It doesn't have to be boring.

The Constitution, that is. When people and states blatantly violate it, it can be very interesting, in fact!  Case in point, Article VI, paragraph 3, which states that:

"The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States."

Sounds good, doesn't it?   Except for these Articles, found in different *state Constitutions :

Arkansas, Article 19, Section 1:
No person who denies the being of a God shall hold any office in the civil departments of this State, nor be competent to testify as a witness in any Court.
Maryland, Article 37:
That no religious test ought ever to be required as a qualification for any office of profit or trust in this State, other than a declaration of belief in the existence of God; nor shall the Legislature prescribe any other oath of office than the oath prescribed by this Constitution.
Mississippi, Article 14, Section 265:
No person who denies the existence of a Supreme Being shall hold any office in this state.
North Carolina, Article 6, Section 8
The following persons shall be disqualified for office: Any person who shall deny the being of Almighty God.
South Carolina, Article 17, Section 4:
No person who denies the existence of a Supreme Being shall hold any office under this Constitution.
Tennessee, Article 9, Section 2:
No person who denies the being of God, or a future state of rewards and punishments, shall hold any office in the civil department of this state.
Texas, Article 1, Section 4:
No religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office, or public trust, in this State; nor shall any one be excluded from holding office on account of his religious sentiments, provided he acknowledge the existence of a Supreme Being.

Anyone have any thoughts on all this?  And please, feel free to discuss anything that interests you more, including what we were discussing in the old post.  :-)

The day after.

So, regardless of how the vote went, the result of this election was, sadly, going to be...

...a destruction of our Constitutional rights.

But, it's done and over.  Now, we sit back and watch our country crumble.  Don't agree it will?  Why not? Think Here's the time for some good, even heated, discussion about it all and it not be on Facebook.  I know I can't be the only one holding back there in order to keep a little peace with family and friends.  :-)  So, who is happy about Obama winning?  Why?  Who isn't?  Why?  Did anything pass in your state that you agree or disagree with and want to discuss?  Go for it.  And please, check all your damn political correctness at the door, grab some balls to strap on and just let it out. what better place than here?

A shiny, fresh new post!

I hope I'm right in thinking we could all stand a lighter subject around here.  :-)

So, the election is upon us and being the equal both-main-parties hater than I am, I shall share these two gems for y'all to discuss and offer enlightening thoughts about.

1. Roboromney.com
Go, try it.  Change your stance and try it again...watch Mitt agree with you each and every time, complete with a video of him doing so, to prove it isn't fake.

2. It appears Obama wears a wedding ring with the words "There is no God but Allah" on it.  Here's one site but Google it, there are tons of others showing the same stuff and more. The birthers are having a field day and the mainstream media isn't saying a word.  Thoughts?  http://www.wnd.com/2012/10/obamas-ring-there-is-no-god-but-allah/

What we need is a...
...against them both.  ;-D

Heartbeat, it's a lovebeat...

I hope this works, as I've never tried imbedding a .gif before.  Anyway, if you watch and concentrate on the one in the middle that moves a lot, you'll begin to feel and sort of hear the rhythm of it in your chest.  It's really cool and will work for most people so good luck.  If it doesn't work for you,  sorry...there's just something wrong with you.

No reason.

Just because.  :-D

Have some soup with a side of FYI...

I can't believe I'm posting a Guy FieTi video, as he gets on my very. last. nerve. but the fact is, this is some good soup!  It looks and sounds odd, but trust me, it's sooo good and with Fall around the corner, I thought I'd share.  The recipe I used will be below it.  :-)

I used this recipe:  http://www.keyingredient.com/recipes/150146/triple-d-cheeseburger-soup/ but I added some liquid smoke and also used canned evaporated milk instead of the half & half, since that's what I had on hand and didn't want to make a trip out. It worked just fine!  I served it with garlic toast but toasted hamburger buns with garlic butter and maybe a few pickle chips would be a cuter substitute.  So, there you go...a fun recipe to make when you're sick of the same ol' thing all the time.

Now, the FYI?  It's just a small one. This place is just dead, so this will probably be the last post here, at least for a long time, unless it somehow picks up.  If any of y'all want me to start a topic with something you want to discuss, email me and let me know at anemonepie at yahoo dot com.  Also, if any of y'all are hanging out someplace fun, please share so those of us who miss "chatting" with a variety of people can stop by and visit.  Thanks!  :-)

Sunday Morning's Gay Agenda. ;-)

This post is going to be a bit personal, but could also, hopefully, be entertaining if people will, you know,  *talk.  :-D

I managed to find myself engaged in an argument about gay people, Christianity and the Bible with a(n internet) friend on FB a couple of days ago.  Some of you may remember her and I'll not name her but won't stop anyone else from doing so, as there were witnesses to this debacle. Basically, it all began with a Chick Fil A comment and I was trying to explain how the Bible really, truly doesn't speak against homosexuality and that, in fact, same-sex marriage was recognize by the Christian church until around Roman times.  That didn't go over well with this person and her gaggle of Bible-thumping-without-really understanding-the-Bible friends and I found myself unfriended.  Lol, no loss on that, as I'd already realized, but what I also realized is that a lot of people don't really know their Bible, yet they love to toss Bible verses out as proof of their...ignorance. So, we're going to have a long, boring church sermon  today, but one with a gay agenda *eyebrow wiggle*. The nice part is, unlike real church where you're forced to sit and listen to the long-winded pastor, you don't have to click the links here if you don't want to.  But...but...if you find yourself with some free time, at least skim he Letter To Louise and Six Points.  It'll make God happy if you do.  Jesus, too.

Yeah, it's a stupid name. Just deal.

It's Sunday-ish...let's explore Deuteronomy 28.

It's disturbing, Deuteronomy 28 is...really, really disturbing.  It even wishes infidelity, cannibalism, STDs, fungus and hemorrhoids on you. Or if not you, then someone. I know a few people who ought to be pretty concerned over all this, though.  Here are some high (or low, I suppose) points worth sharing:

28:15 But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:

28:22 The LORD shall smite thee with a consumption, and with a fever, and with an inflammation, and with an extreme burning, and with the sword, and with blasting, and with mildew; and they shall pursue thee until thou perish.

28:27 The LORD will smite thee with the botch of Egypt, and with the emerods, and with the scab, and with the itch, whereof thou canst not be healed.

28:28 The LORD shall smite thee with madness, and blindness, and astonishment of heart:

28:30 Thou shalt betroth a wife, and another man shall lie with her: thou shalt build an house, and thou shalt not dwell therein: thou shalt plant a vineyard, and shalt not gather the grapes thereof.

28:35 The LORD shall smite thee in the knees, and in the legs, with a sore botch that cannot be healed, from the sole of thy foot unto the top of thy head.

28:53 And thou shalt eat the fruit of thine own body, the flesh of thy sons and of thy daughters, which the LORD thy God hath given thee, in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee:

28:55 So that he will not give to any of them of the flesh of his children whom he shall eat: because he hath nothing left him in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee in all thy gates.

28:57 And toward her young one that cometh out from between her feet, and toward her children which she shall bear: for she shall eat them for want of all things secretly in the siege and straitness, wherewith thine enemy shall distress thee in thy gates.

and then, just to add further insult to injury...

28:68 And the LORD shall bring thee into Egypt again with ships, by the way whereof I spake unto thee, Thou shalt see it no more again: and there ye shall be sold unto your enemies for bondmen and bondwomen, and no man shall buy you.

Yikes. And people wonder why there's so much violence in the world. Imagine, for a moment, that Deuteronomy 28 was a video game or something...

Pastor Steve is going to teach us about Jesus again.

String, get the pantyhose ready and if y'all can't be gay then be sure to curse your parents, just to be defiant.  Or definite.  :-D

Sunday, May 20, 2012

It's Sunday and whoa...there's a new post!

Instead of church, let's tie String up with her pantyhose and have a conversation about Evolution vs. Creationism, shall we?  *eyebrow wiggle*  Me?  I believe in both.

Alternately, we can talk about anything y'all like.  We aren't picky because God made us evolve into something reasonable like that. :-)

Psalm 37:21

Depending on which version of the Bible you have, there are many versions of this Psalm, each varying slightly.  Below are a few of the versions and you can see how, depending upon the wording, somewhat different interpretations can be had.  In light of all our McKinney excitement, I'm curious...Christianity, debt, bankruptcy...what do y'all think about it all? Any other Biblical quotes to point one way or another to share?

New American Standard Bible (©1995)
The wicked borrows and does not pay back, But the righteous is gracious and gives.

 King James Bible (Cambridge Ed.)
The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth.

 American Standard Version
The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again; But the righteous dealeth graciously, and giveth.

 Douay-Rheims Bible
The sinner shall borrow, and not pay again; but the just sheweth mercy and shall give.

 World English Bible
The wicked borrow, and don't pay back, but the righteous give generously.

Happy Easter!

***Edited to add that I finally re-loaned our Kiva fund and was lucky enough to find 2 groups that just struck me as people we should help and both groups only needed one more loan to get them to their goal amount!  A two-fer of help...how cool is that?  :-)  So, down there to the right, I have the new information up so we can watch their progress!   Also, if anyone wants to help on their own, for a limited time Kiva is allowing existing members to offer an invitation to new members, and it includes $25 to lend!  You can sign up using this link:  Kiva - You're invited to Join Kiva  and just know I get nothing for this, nor does this blog. Kiva is doing it solely to get new lenders to join, so give it a shot and help someone out!***

If no one minds, I think we'll skip church again and go Easter hunting with Roobii.

Sunday, March 25, 2012

Instead of church today, let's have an adventure.

Let's go play with the heathens!

Sunday, March 18, 2012

It's Sunday and we're ridin' dirty to church!

Sunday, March 11, 2012

God led me to share this...

...however, God also said to warn everyone it's not safe for work, kids, pets or anyone easily offended.  Happy Sunday.  :-)

Sunday, February 26, 2012

God will forgive us...

...if we attend Sunday evening services today, right?  I slipped up and forgot to take us to church this morning, I'm sorry!  To make it up to y'all, I found this place for us to attend evening services!  If we get lucky, they'll be having a covered dish dinner afterward and will invite us.   ;-)

Bonus benefit to going here?  We don't have to shave legs and wear pantyhose...we can wear a sari or a salwar kameez.  I think Jake has some stick-on bindi dots we can use, too!

The new MckHouse.

It seems like half the blogging world is looking for pictures of/info about MckMama's new house so here you go.  This eliminates the need for a link with an address and such to be passed around, thereby keeping her kids safer and still satisfying our nosiness.  And yes, I know that with this post, the original listing can be found but hey, that's just how it goes sometimes...it's going to be found anyway, if anyone wants to find it badly enough.  Maybe this will be enough for a lot of people. To save space, I didn't bother with a few pictures that, frankly, weren't interesting; one was of a bathroom sink in a non-master bath, for example.  If you click on these, they should get bigger, I hope.  Enjoy...or something.

Too tired for church today?

We can just have small group here later, if that works for everyone?

(post was heavily edited 02/23 at around 4:10pm...if you're looking for pictures/info on MckMama's new house, it's on the new post now.)

Sunday, February 12, 2012

F-U for those double consonant typos.

Happy Sunday and it's actually a good message for us this time.  Odd, but good...worth thinking on.  :-)

Sunday, February 5, 2012

Pastor Steve would probably not approve...

...but I found us a new game to play after church today!

Susan B. Komen, Planned Parenthood and Penn State.

I see MckMama is all worked up on FB about the Susan B. Komen Foundation dropping their funding for Planned Parenthood.  We all know how *that conversation is going to be moderated, deleted and banned so I figured maybe this would be a good place for anyone who finds it to discuss their feelings openly, with no fear of getting their hands slapped.  I know abortion is a touchy subject but it's also an important one to discuss.  *passes out the adult Underoos to everyone*

Also, SBK is claiming they didn't pull support due to PP providing abortions; they did it because PP is "under investigation".  Okay, fine.  Only SBK *is providing $7.5 million  in finding to Penn State, an organization which is also "under investigation".  Here's a link and ignore the HuffPost source...sometimes they actually remain factual.  ;-)  http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/02/02/susan-g-komen-penn-state_n_1250896.html

If you support what SBK has done with dropping PP, would you mind explaining if you think the Penn State funding is okay and why?  If you don't like what SGK has done to PP, how do you feel about the Penn State funding...should they be funded in addition to PP?  Hey, food for talk.  :-)

Sunday, January 29, 2012

Pastor Steve makes an interesting point here...

...so think twice before voting for Mitt Romney.
*twitch*

Can we all go to the Golden Corral after church?

Friday, January 27, 2012

Three guesses, click, click, click.

Who does this remind y'all of?  :-D

I watched it and cackled...figured I'd give everyone else a funny start to the weekend.  There are others in the series, too, and are worth watching.  The similarities are beautiful!

Sunday, January 22, 2012

It's Sunday, so we can go visit Pastor Steve again!

Yes, we can!

I can't drive the kids' bus, though.  I'm a recruiter.  *nods*

Can someone loan me a pair of suntan pantyhose?  Thanks!

Sunday, January 15, 2012

*passes out the half-slips and sprays us all with Windsong perfume*

I found us a new pastor and he pisses standing up because he's a man and apparently, German men are just male.  *nods*

The best part?  I watched 3 videos of him, sort of snortling to myself, and then realized something that made him all the more amusing.  Know what it is?

I accidentally found Zsuszanna's husband and now I smell a series coming on.  :-D

Happy New (Election) Year!!

I hope 2012 started out well for anyone who happens to read this, and I hope it continues on the same until we all die on December 21, lol. <--See, I laugh, but don't kid yourselves...I'm not convinced it's not going to happen. Those Mayans, they figured shit out we haven't even started to understand.  I laugh, but I'm going to live right and find Jesus or something, too.  I like to hedge my bets.

So, anyone want to talk politics?  Tomorrow is the Iowa caucus and I'm rooting for Ron Paul to at least pull a second place win.  Second will send a message, a starting message, and even the biggest revolutions started small. Since this is an election year, if anyone wants to have a video or picture and statement posted about a candidate they like and why, send it to anemeonepie@yahoo(dot)com and I'll post it in it's entirey, as long as it appears to be somewhat serious.

Otherwise, I hope everyone's doing well out there.  Happy New Year!
