It's Holy Saturday.

Pack a bag, because I've rented a bus to take us all to Austria for the big day.

I bet they have beer.

Hi all!

RiM & Kristin - Thanks for the songs/singers recommendations! I tried to comment on that yesterday but blogger was being a PITA.

AP & CK- You talked about the Tea Party movement and I read a few interesting articles on the topic:

Morning Taiya - mice - ick!

I watch Dora on a regular basis (well half assed) b/c I try to either get on here or do laundry or something while he TV's it.

We are going to hunt of Easter Eggs today and then I am going to attempt to get LM to decorate pots for Easter plants for the girls in the family.

Sorry you are tired. :(

T@iy@ said...

Kristin- Morning! Dora.. Yeah. I still can't block the "Dora, Dora, Dora the Exploooorrrreeerrr" from my brain, no matter how I try. :)

Tired is a state of being for me at this point in pregnancy, so I am pretty used to it. :) I just nap when I can to keep up. :)

have fun with the egg hunt and pots!

T@iy@ said...

I use smileys too often.

Morning Ladies! Making Easter Eggs today.

It's raining today here so hopefully I get some inside stuff done. My folks are coming over tomorrow for dinner.

kristin said...

morning sandy!

PJ said...

Hi Kristin, Sandy, Taiya! What time does the bus to Austria leave?

kristin said...

morning ck!

PJ said...

Corinne - thank you SO MUCH for the links - I'll be reading this a.m.

Taiya - with the mice - I would be moving out. My husband is our mouse killer. The Dachshund would like to be the mouse killer.

If you can find where they're getting in the house, and block it up, that'll help a lot. There may be multiple points of entry.

PJ said...

Husband flushes them down the toilet, and the dog stretches up with his paws on the edge of the seat and sadly watches them spin down into oblivion.

Anonymous said...

Good Morning CK!

I cannot do mice. I would move out first.

PJ said...

Kristin - have a great time with the egg hunt. What fun for someone LM's age!

We go to my husband's sisters house on Easter. The bigger kids (now 20+ years old) hide the eggs for the littler kids. It's such a great tradition.

PJ said...

Sandy - I'm so with you on the mice. Luckily we seem to have found all the entry points, so we haven't had any for a while.

They were hanging out in our unfinished basement.

kristin said...

I'm hoping we will - hope he doesn't have a melt down b/c he was up before 6:00.

Tomorrow we are going to mom's and she is hiding eggs for the 2 little ones. It'll be fun - he loves his cousin!

Anonymous said...

We're hiding eggs in the back 40 tomorrow for the kids. I'm hoping we don't get too much rain today...even though we need it.

Angie said...

Bus to Austria? ::shrugging:: Okay, I'm in!

Hope everyone is having a good Saturday! I'm taking it easy and plan to do laundry and start getting the house ready for the housekeeper Monday -- my bi-weekly torture.

PJ said...

Have a nice Saturday, SW.

It's gonna have to be The Magic School Bus, to get us over the Atlantic.

Angie said...

LOL CK!

I like the idea of the bigger kids hiding eggs for the little kids. If that means the adults get to sit around and chat.

PJ said...

SW - that's exactly the idea.

kristin said...

a few years back my BIL's aunt had a party at her place for Easter. They had an egg hunt for the kids (two) and then later - they had one for the adults - or the older kids - and I think we all donated $3.00 or something in the beginning and while most of us adults were out back drinking, eating and socializing - some of the others hid a bunch (like 50-60) eggs in the front yard with money in it - I think there was a $30.00 egg or something that was gold - it was a lot of fun and chaotic - they put the eggs in wheel wells, mailboxes, eaves, etc. They had a huge front yard (and backyard too). It was a lot of fun!

Anonymous said...

Hey everyone!
I'm around, here & there.....but the 3 kids (not quite MSC, obviously) keep me busy. And since no one has gifted me an iphone yet, it's hard to do all of the computer stuff I want when I'm having to spend time with the non-MSC. sad, huh?

PJ said...

Ann - Hi! You've been missed!

Anonymous said...

Update on us...
we have our home study packet in, we've been assigned a case/social worker, and initial meeting happens in a couple of weeks!

Everything else is fairly boring. Kids on spring break, been doing fun stuff with them. Husband working a lot....same old, same old.

Anonymous said...

hey CK!
yay! someone on here, not just rambling to myself!

PJ said...

How's the exercise thing going? I need some inspiration.

Anonymous said...

I've been doing good with it!
A grade in a class depends on me actually doing all 4 or whatever weeks. I guess I could cheat, but I'd have guilt or something ;)

Anonymous said...

I want to start keeping track of food, but I know I'd be horrified at what I eat in a day, if I count all snacks and everything.

kristin said...

Hey Ann!

Packing up getting ready to go hunt for Easter Eggs!

Anonymous said...

I have to go out and buy easter eggs today sometime.

each year it is the SAME damn conversation with the husband.
I tell him "almost time to buy baskets & plastic eggs!" and he says, no we kept the eggs from last year.

So I ask him to get them. He says yeah, they';re in the attic (doesn't mean it's true, generally the attic means he doesn't feel like looking *right now*).

Well, can you get them from the attic? nah, when it gets closer to Easter he says.

Well last night he gets the easter box out, and SHOCKER no eggs. We have no plastic eggs.

Strangely the exact same thing happened last year.

Year before that? I bought them ($5 worth) and he MADE ME RETURN THEM. not like by force, but made me seem crazy for having bought them in the first place.

Anonymous said...

damn it! next time I write conversational novel, remind me to do it JM style.

so anyways, yeah. Last minute expensive easter eggs. Cause smart people buy them early or just keep the damn things.

kristin said...

that sucks Ann!

alright ladies - I'm gonna go to the bank and then head to mom's - see ya ladies later!

Angie said...

Welcome back, Ann! It's great to hear from you!

Lisa said...

Morning!

Hi, Ann. Glad to hear things are moving along with the big plan. :-)

Corinne, thanks for those links. I'm going to go get a second cup of coffee and do some reading.

SW, yes, a bus to Austria. We'll go via Alaska since you can see Russia from there. I bet there's a ferry. *nods*

No big plans here other than going to buy a ham for dinner tomorrow. Well, and cleaning.

PJ said...

Ann,

Oh, oops, sorry...I have 2 blogs, one about adoption, the other is a work-out one. The workout one is for a class I'm taking on health. We need to keep track of our habit-changing-thingy for 4-6 weeks or something. Figured a blog would make it easier.
Can't remember where I've posted what about.

My memory sucks these days. short-term is horrendous :(

Anonymous said...

Mice I'm okay with, rats not so much.

spiders I'm okay with, but not a few of the types we have around here at times (black & brown widows--ick!). And I was fine with snakes, even had a python as a pet for a time. But then a rattle snake killed our dog a few years ago. Now not a fan of the bad species of them :(

PJ said...

I got it, Ann.

Are you adopting domestically?

Anonymous said...

So do JM & crew read on here? Or do they just stay on MWOP?

Anonymous said...

We were planning on domestic, but we're also looking at international. we don't qualify for some countries (too many kids already or the wrong religion, etc), and some are too expensive (50k is not outrageous for Russia anymore).

International though appeals, as we would be put on a list and just have to work our way to the top. Whereas domestic, we would have to wait to be chosen. And already having 3 boys, and all being Caucasian (though open entirely to any race), and requesting girl....it could be a long wait for someone to want us to the *chosen ones.* If that makes sense.

For those of you who were wondering who Jesse Ventura is:

Former Wrestler (and not like Olympic wrestling, but WWF craziness). Decided he knew better than all the politicians, so he ran for mayor of a Minneapolis suburb. Served there, then decided to run for governor.

People voted for him as a joke, but he managed to get elected. Ignorant, uneducated, know it all, shoots his mouth off without thinking - kind of a male version of JM.

Served one term as governor. Went on to do radio and cable, wrote a couple of books, grew some really weird beard/dreads.

Thinks very highly of himself.

Anonymous said...

JVentura & JM certainly do many favors for that state...

PJ said...

Ann,
Hoping for the best for the adoption. I imagine it's a long process -

Minnesota has it's share of smart, thoughtful people too.

Anonymous said...

i guess I can't say much about government in MN, as we're in California and have Ahnold in charge ;)

adoption can be long or short, a lot of it comes down to cash. Sad as it is.

Angie said...

It is very sad that kids in desperate need of a home get waylaid because of $$$.

Good morning/afternoon to everyone :)

Wow, I *loved the socialist chicken post. Do you think she could be a guest on Glenn Beck's show? I love that Mck, who has foreclosures and repossessions, writes about how she doesn't want to "share the wealth". Egads.

Politics and poultry aside, how are you all? I went on a tear last night that involved Wii bowling and beer. It was ugly, but I am recuperating nicely.

For me with JM (And this seems to be for a lot of other people too), it's not her (necessarily) alone that drives me crazy. She comes across as, hmm, whatever. Nothing special, I guess. When she acts to be expert on anything, I roll my eyes, but it's not like it offends me or anything.

Her followers on the other hand? Not those that just read and go about their days. But the ones who seriously look up to her? They just do so much more damage than she alone. They make her look crazier than she does!

Margo said...

Taiya - wash your mouth out - kidding :)

My issue with JM is she is dishonest - it's on me that I read her drivel for so long. It amazes me the lenghts her fans go to "out" naysayers. There is someone on twitter now posting the home addresses of mwop posters. That seems pretty nuts to me.

PJ said...

Margaret - who's posting the home addresses? Yikes.

Margo said...

Someone named "oopsiedazed".

PJ said...

Yuck - people need to get a life. Lots of them?

Margo said...

Sorry - I should have said posted the address - only 1.

T@iy@ said...

That is ridiculous about home addresses. Nothing like sending overzealous stalkers to someone's doorstep.

I think Easter grass along with tinsel is the work of devil - just sayin...

Anonymous said...

I have eliminated Easter grass, play doh and moon sand. Products of the devil.

Angie said...

Margaret, was there something about posting of an address on MWOP? I didn't see anything. Sounds like someone is trying to implicate a Daisy, huh? That pisses me off, even though it is too obvious to be true.

Anonymous said...

SW do a find people search on Twitter. I don't want to say who's address but we all know her. It's just not right.

Angie said...

Hi Sandy, thanks for the suggestion. I see it now. Hmmmm, I wonder who (1) has her address and (2) dislikes her enough to do something like that. I don't think it's one of us, but I'm sure we'll be blamed. Which isn't fair, really, Because we've been good, dammit.

I wonder if GM has her address.

Anonymous said...

I don't think it's one of us either. Even though we have been deemed lowlifes, I don't think anyone here would do that.

What sort of gratification does one get by posting someones address? Really?

Anonymous said...

And...it doesn't take a rocket scientist to get someones address either.

Can you tell when people do shit like that it really burns my ass!

Angie said...

"What sort of gratification does one get by posting someones address?"

Good question. It's not like some mob of pitchfork-waving sheeple are going to pile in a pickup truck and go to her house seeking revenge. So there's no real threat, just someone trying to intimidate someone into silence. I hope it doesn't work.

Anonymous said...

"It's not like some mob of pitchfork-waving sheeple are going to pile in a pickup truck and go to her house seeking revenge."

I have my Holy Water ready! lol

Angie said...

LOL Sandy!

Anonymous said...

SW, I have this really bad mental image of women stuffed into the back of a pickup truck waving Bibles and screaming Repent!!

Lisa said...

Checking and and just checked twitter. That's just shitty as hell, posting people's personal info. I don't even care so much if only adults live there but when kids live at that address? It takes a special kind of mean to do it, considering all the freaks and perverts out there. :-(

Bella, Wii bowling and beer? Sounds like a recipe for vomit to me, all that beer churning around.

Taiya I read JM, too. I do it for my daily dose of aggravation, though.

Margo said...

I don't think it's anyone from here - the women here are too bright for that kind of mess.

Hi Mulie and AP!

kristin said...

Hey ladies - it's been a long ass day - and hot to boot but fun!

LM has had no nap and is VERY tired - and a little pissy - but I'm hoping he will be out in just a few.

I still have Easter baskets to do and finish the plants - just water them and settle the dirt.

How was everyone else's Saturday?

Anonymous said...

Hey Kristin1 Glad you guys had fun.

kristin said...

i'm confused as to who you guys are talking about though - was the address posted on twitter or MWoP?

Lisa said...

"Kristin1"

Kristin, you aren't going to turn into a bitch now that you've got a number after your name, are you?

kristin said...

ummmm....I thought I already was a bitch AP?

At least I'm not "the kristin"

lol

How are you?

Lisa said...

I like "the Kristin", actually.

And I'm okay, thanks. Did LM go to sleep yet?

kristin said...

I haven't checked - he is in "mommy's room" - we were fighting about the shower (which he desperately needed) and he wanted to watch his "moobie" first - but I knew if he went to my bed - he would be out - so he got a quick shower - and is now on my bed - I'm about to check on him.

T@iy@ said...

I agree about tinsel, easter grass, moon sand and purchased play-doh. I make my own playdoh, though, and it just dries and vacuums or sweeps up. Super easy and so easy. If it happens to be stuck to anything I just wash it and it disintegrates. :) Like carpet. We have carpet under our dining room table.

I skipped the easter grass this year. I am just stuffing some cute fabric in the bottom and throwing the stuff on top. :)

AP- ha @ daily dose of aggravation. That would be me with Dooce if I bothered.

kristin said...

Is it bad that I have no desire to do anything - I don't want to do an Easter Basket or anything else.

uggghhhh....

kristin said...

actually i want to do a post about today but my eyes are burning :(

Margo said...

Taiya - I prefer the homemade flour/salt playdoh - I will not allow moon sand in my house!

There are so many baskets here I don't know why I bother - she has 3 from her grandmas, one from my sister and then one from the bunny.

T@iy@ said...

me neither, Margaret! Someone gifted moon sand to my DD for her birthday and we gifted Goodwill with it, immediately.

Muliebrity said...

I hate playdoh!

Someday when I care, you'll have to give the recipe for the homemade playdoh.

T@iy@ said...

"Someday when I care"

haha. Well, you let me know when that day comes, Mulie. :)

kristin said...

my abbreviated post from today:

Where is everyone tonight?

Okay - so baskets are out (minus the gifts for SO - that will happen in the morning), eggs are hidden in the backyard and I'm about to go do a switcharoo with the little guy.

I am exhausted.

T@iy@ said...

Woohoo, Kristin! Have fun sleeping. Sounds like you deserve some rest!

Anonymous said...

Okay, okay. I'm here The Kristin1. LOL My fingers were flying. The address was posted on Twitter. Just very un-cool.

I have people (my parents)coming tomorrow and I haven't done a damn thing around here. I work well under pressure.

Baskets will be done as soon as these people go to bed. Damn Bunny...who started this basket stuff any way?

kristin said...

Thanks Taiya -

Shower taken - LM pottied (in the potty), switched beds and night time diaper put on!

My feet are killing me! I still need to start the dishwasher and empty out the mac and cheese pan.

I was in Target the other day. A lady was buying a Nintendo DS for her kids for Easter! What happened to just little trinkets and candy? If that's what Easter has become then I'm asking the Easter Bunny for a Lexus!

kristin said...

I kept finding things - I bought a $10.00 basket at wal-mart with a "big truck" and then I bought some binoculars and a CAT truck (makes sounds) and some little people, and a set of matchbox cars and some of those little plastic pieces (from Michael's) that are ocean animals (put in the eggs b/c LM doesn't like candy). Then I found a fireman boot that is a piggy bank - which I just got to decorate his room and thought WTH - might as well use it as an Easter gift - oh and a plastic snake and a stuffed chicken :) - yeah, it's a little much but he's my guy. Oh, and I got my niece some stuff and LM some other stuff for the pool, I took that to my mom's to put in their baskets over there.

kristin said...

going to bed ladies!

Have an AWESOME Easter!

goodnight!

Angie said...

Sandy said: "What happened to just little trinkets and candy?" Thank you! I've been wondering about that myself. A friend of mine was whining this week that she had to go buy "Easter presents" for her kids and I said "Presents?" What happened to Easter CANDY? Parents spoil their kids too much these days. (Said the old maid with no kids who thinks she knows everything.)

Angie said...

Night Kristin, Happy Easter to you! Oh, I was watching Molly a few minutes ago and Max came in with a rabbit that was alive and squealing! It was terrible and I couldn't get the screen closed fast enough. Circle of life and all, but I didn't want to watch Molly kill the Easter bunny!

Anonymous said...

Kristin that stuff is fine. It's alot of little stuff. This lady was going gang busters with this DS. I know some of my friends get their kids high priced gifts for Easter too.

I put in things like stickers and coloring books, pencils, little stuffed animals, candy. This year since we are all together on Easter, we're doing an Easter egg hunt. I've put dollar bills in some of the eggs. Some have candy and some have coins.

kristin said...

FT - if you pop on - I hope the birthday boy had a great birthday!

Karen - hope you got a cord - hope the daughter is feeling better and hope the grandkids have a fantastic Easter.

That goes for everyone else too!

RiM - :) Hope you are enjoying that new house.

Linds- thinking of you {{{HUGS}}}

SW - hope the house gets clean for Monday!

Taiya - don't overdue it tomorrow!

CK - hope you have family plans and hope your daughter is feeling better - I owe you an e-mail.

Kaytie - Happy Easter!

Ann - congrats - I've been reading your blog but not commenting much - sorry! I'm glad things are progressing well.

Bella - I have only played Wii once - we have one but SO hasn't even taken it out of the box.

BD - Hope you too have a great Easter with the girls!

Margaret - I love the peep - I got both boys peeps for Easter.

I am sure that I am forgetting someone. Sorry if I am - for those lurking and those I forgot - Happy Easter!

AP - Happy Easter to you and yours - and thanks again for setting this up - and so far you haven't let it go to your head :)

Goodnight!

kristin said...

I should have gotten stickers :(

SW - AWESOME - did the last owlette hatch?

Alright - seriously - I'm tired, exhausted and tomorrow is too soon.

Goodnight!

Angie said...

Kristin, it's not looking like the last egg is going to hatch. :-( But the four owlets are thriving! And after they eat the Easter bunny, they'll be especially strong!

Lisa said...

"AP - Happy Easter to you and yours - and thanks again for setting this up - and so far you haven't let it go to your head :)"

SO FAR? :-P~~~~

And you're welcome but all I did was take 30 minutes to set it up and put maybe 10 minutes a day into it. Y'all give me *way more than that back in fun, gossip and friendship. I'm so grateful to know you all. :-)

Oh, and when Jake was young, I did the same thing with his Easter baskets that you're doing now. I think when we have an only and can afford to do it, we do overdo a bit. That's okay, though, it's good. Mine is sort of grown-ish but tomorrow morning he still gets a basket with candy, guitar picks, a little jar of caviar (don't ask) and a plastic egg with $20 in it. As long as they don't expect to be spoiled, I see no harm in it.
