If you wanted the sky, I would write across the sky in letters.

Because we all need to start the day off with a good song stuck in our heads, enjoy!

Thanks for the heads up - I would have been sitting there refreshing the page forever...

I'm addicted to Bejeweled on Facebook... all out addict... I need a 12 step program!!

Lisa said...

I farm, but I farm obsessively. Does that count?
Back to your last comment, drop off some applications and see how the waitressing would pan out, Karen. I'm with you - a job you can go, do then come home and leave it behind would be a very good thing. I periodically check the Walgreens down the road and if, 10 years ago, you've have told me I'd want to work at Walgreens, I'd have thought you were insane. I used to thrive on having a high-paying, high-stress, high-powered job. Now? I think I'd really like stocking shelves and showing people were the Denorex is, then going home.

Karen said...

Right - I agree - I'd take Walgreens... or waitress... or whatever it takes to pay the bills and give me some time with my family! The only thing with waitressing or Walgreens or a job at the - omg I couldn't do it - but the mall - would be working with 20 year olds and their drama... I can do without drama in my life right now too! But I think I'm going to try the waitress or even cashier job - I could scan some groceries and make small talk with people at the local grocery store, and not be bored and still feel as if my life is fulfilled! and you're right - 10 years ago - I wouldn't have thought I would feel this way - but I'm ok with boring!

And yea - farming obsessively counts! Patti has an aquarium... and a farm... I don't do either... But Bejeweled, I just keep thinking one more game!!

Karen said...

Applying online at Walgreens right now AP - if I get the job - you get a commission!! ha! I'm gonna do online applications for Kmart and Walmart too - I could deal with a discount for shopping there too!! LOL

Lisa said...

It's not boring, it's having your priorities in order, Karen. For years, when Jake was young, I worked 70 or more hours a week. In hindsight, that was so not having my priorities in order, even though I had him with me. If you can find something to pay your bills, even if you don't have much left over, and can come home to your family unstressed, you've found a good job.

Lisa said...

I'm telling you, Walgreens is good! Not too busy, lots of nice older folks and some have liquor stores...

Karen said...

I like people - even old people sometimes! and a liquor store makes one less stop on the way home, right? ha! I'm doing Walmart too! It wouldn't hurt if I got a job - and if I hated it, I can just keep looking, and in the meantime I'd still be making money, right?

I worked high pressure 9 years, I'm ready for less stress and less responsibility. I have all my kids and grandkids in town now - in NY it was just me and Patti and I had all the time in the world to concentrate on my job... now a job will just be the means to spend time with my family!

Ok - going to do more online applications! Night AP!

And thanks for opening up this blog - I was missing everyone at SIPS that stopped posting there regularly! I appreciate this type of board where you get immediate feedback! Blogs are nice to read and keep up with people, but this is lots more fun!!! I like interacting with everyone!!

Have a good night!

All together now 'Dude you're timing sucks'.

I'm, okish? Very depressed.

Sandgroper said...

Kaye I'm sorry to hear that. I was hoping things had improved for you emotionally as I know things have not been great healthwise. How are your kiddos enjoying school?

Sorry to hit and run but it's home time for me. Take care, be gentle on yourself.

Kay- Yea! You're here! I'm so glad to see you but sorry you're having such a rough time right now.

AP- Yup, I said it. The Saints won! That's a miracle and deserves a 'holy shit!' I'm hanging my head in shame now.

Morning ladies! I was MIA yesterday b/c my laptop is dead :(

A whole day without the computer and I survived!

Congrats Tee!

Good Morning Everyone.

Morning Trudy! How are you doing?

twirldawg said...

Morning Kristin and Trudy.

kristin said...

Hey Jill! Did you get everything done at the old house?

twirldawg said...

Kristin- no. My husband and I have been arguing over it all too.

kristin said...

Sorry to hear Jill :(

Congrats on the win CK! How was the mini vacay?

...sorry, still trying to catch up!

Angie said...

Morning all! So happy to see LFOB and SG here! Congrats Saints fans!

So my party was a success, but did not get off to a great start due to a stupid mistake on my part. In order to find out what time the game started when I was inviting people, I checked tvguide.com. Saw that the pregame started at 6:00 and kickoff twenty minutes later. So okay, set the party start at 6:00.

Only I didn't realize that the tvguide.com times were eastern time! So I was an hour off! Stupid, right? But I thought that tvguide.com adjusted the times based on where I lived.

So I realized my mistake at about 4:30, and immediately realized that some people who were fans would probably come "early," realizing my error.

I rushed around like a madwoman trying to fit an hour and a half's worth of prep into thirty minutes. At 4:45, the family that I knew was likely to come early arrived! The vacuum was in the middle of the floor, I hadn't swept the kitchen yet, no make-up on, and forget the food being out and on the table!

It turned out not to be a big deal. They are good friends, so I put them to work. Dad swept the kitchen, Mom vacuumed the living room, kids took stuff to the table. I excused myself to put on make-up. It all worked out. But lordy, good lesson learned for me!

Anyway, I'm in mourning because I dropped my laptop and BROKE IT. Now I'll be without internet access in the evenings until I get it fixed. And I'm not sure how to go about doing that. Can I take it to the geek squad at Best Buy and will they mail it back to Dell if they can't fix it? How will I survive in the meantime? (I don't know how you made it yesterday, Kristin!) Arrgh!

Okay, enough about me. I need to go catch up on comments. Hope everyone is doing well.

twirldawg said...

It's ok Kristin.

How was your Internet free Sunday?

kristin said...

SW - party sounded like it turned out great - glad you had help!

I survived mostly in part b/c I had the superbowl to keep me occupied. Went to my sisters house who said she was having a "few" people over which ended up more like 30 or so.

LM had a blast with the kids, it was a bit chilly but good food and good friends.

Did anyone else do anything for Super Bowl?

twirldawg said...

Rick was working so I didn't really feel obligated to turn on the game. Richard likes "beetball" so we watched it a bit until he went to bed. I turned on Big Love after half-time.

kristin said...

Hey AP - saw the comment about Lee - I will e-mail her (if someone hasn't already)...I'm still catching up.

Speakin go bacon - at the SB party someone made something called Jesus Toe's. It was bacon wrapped something - so good, and then she had turkey bacon wrapped something...I want more :) Maybe I will make BLT's tonight or something. I'm hungry now :(

Angie said...

I haven't seen Big Love yet, Jill. Was it good?

Robin in Montana said...

Morning!

Feeling a bit peak-ish this morning, not going to lie about that. :-D

SW - glad your party turned out. Even when I plan, that's typically how my parties turn out, with me in sweats from the day before, hair standing on end, vacuuming yet to do, and people standing there wondering what the hell. lol.

Made the drip beef from PW site and it *smells amazing, but we had so much other crap we never got to it.

Kristin - find out what the Jesus toes were! Please!

I made some salsa that I had forgotten about. Sounds stupid, but it's *SO good.

1 jar Pace Picante (I prefer medium)
1/2 bunch cilantro (or more, your choice)
Juice of half a lime
garlic salt
lots of fresh cracked pepper (I also used some Redneck Pepper that AP so thoughtfully sent me)

Whirl the whole mess in the blender. Sounds crazy but it tastes like fresh made salsa. Yum!

Okay, I'm out to take kids to school. No pajama pants and cowboy boots this morning, but I am looking fashionable in capri workout pants an oversized sweatshirt and a pink Cabela's "trucker hat." I know.

OH. Went to the gym yesterday with Kelly who thought it would be good to work my arms and back. I may not be able to type later today since it hurts to lift my arms above knee level.

kristin said...

Hey RiM :) Sorry you are peakish :(

I'm tired but I'll survive. LM had a rough night.

Angie said...

Hi RiM! I was worried about your outfit until you said pink Cabela's "trucker hat." I'm sure that pulls it all together!

That salsa sounds delicious and what a great idea!

Robin in Montana said...

SW -- It's all in the accessories. ::nod::

twirldawg said...

SW- it was pretty good. I can't wait until next week. The previews look interesting.

kristin said...

Any computer savvy people out there?

Thoughts on my predicament.....

My laptop is dead :( I can't get it to charge b/c the connection b/w the power cord and the internal component won't connect. It seems it has always had a problem, where I had to jiggle it to make it connect, bought a new cord and everything. Saturday, when I was going through the pics that I took from Sesame Street - LM kicked the computer - and that was the end of it.

So my BIL (computer nerd) says I should just buy another computer, says that these things are sautered to the motherboard and it would probably get expensive.

It is an Dell 600.

For all those with snow - hope you guys aren't going stir crazy and that you are safe and warm.

Robin in Montana said...

Kristin -- I don't really know, but it is probably a better option to buy a new one. Should be some good deals out there. Might be worth a call to Best Buy or something, though, just to get a rough idea of the cost to fix it?

Angie said...

Kristin, I wish I could help you. I'm in the same boat, trying to figure out what to do about mine. So far the people I've asked have said I should just buy a new one. Sucks. :-(

The good news for me is that I remembered that I have a desktop at home that I've never used. If I can figure out how to connect it to my wireless router, or how to set it up to run wireleslly (LOL, I'm a computer idiot), I may not have to be without home access.

Angie said...

AP, here is the bacon dip recipe you requested. I'd never made it before, and it was very easy and very very good:

Warm Bacon Cheese Spread

1 round loaf (1 pound) sourdough bread
1 package (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened
1 – ½ cups (12 oz.) sour cream
2 cups (8 oz.) shredded cheddar cheese
1 – ½ t. Worcestershire Sauce
¾ pound sliced bacon, cooked and crumbled
½ cup chopped green onions (I used about 1/4 cup)

Assorted crackers

Cut the top fourth off the loaf of bread; carefully hollow out the bottom, leaving a 1- in shell. Cut the removed bread and top of loaf into cubes; set aside.

In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese. Add the sour cream, cheddar cheese and Worcestershire sauce until combined; stir in bacon and onions. Spoon into bread shell. Wrap in a piece of heavy-duty foil. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour or until heated through. Serve with crackers and reserved bread cubes.

Yield: 4 cups.

Angie said...

Tee, here is the cookie recipe you requested:

Monster Cookies

½ pound butter (2 sticks), softened
1-1/2 pounds peanut butter (I use extra crunchy)
1 pound brown sugar
2 cups granulated sugar
6 eggs
1-1/2 teaspoon vanilla
4 teaspoons baking soda
9 cups oatmeal
1 pound chocolate chips
1 pound M&Ms
¾ cup chopped nuts

Cream butter and peanut butter, then add sugars and beat until well mixed. Add eggs and mix. Add vanilla and baking soda and mix. Mix in oatmeal, and then stir in chips, M&M’s and nuts. Use a scoop to form balls of dough, then gently flatten dough on cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. This recipe makes a lot of cookies – probably 6-8 dozen – so unless I’m baking for a crowd, I halve the recipe.

Angie said...

For those who haven't seen it, there is a good post on Mckmama without Pity titled "Bait" that collects the outrageous ways that Mck used Stellan's illness for clicks.

Robin in Montana said...

SW - Did the bacon get all "wilty"?

Angie said...

It definitely wasn't crisp, RiM, but that may have been because I didn't really get it that crisp to start with. But I had it in really small pieces, so if it was wilty, it wasn't noticeable. It really just added flavor, and not much to texture.

Rebecca said...

That dip sounds like something I could sit and eat entirely by myself.

I am hoping that by hanging out with you talented girls, I will become a good cook (or any cook) simply by osmosis.

Robin in Montana said...

SW -- hmmm. I might have to make it. I'm going to google for it, but if I can't find it, I'd like the Bobby Dean dip recipe.

I've lost 4 pounds, and the pain I am feeling from the gym yesterday is reminding me to not be an ass, but that leftover Velveeta and the hot wings are taunting me from the fridge.

But ... still speaking of food (do I *ever think about anything else?) both my Katie and Kelly's Grayce have birthdays cmoing up very soon (the 21st and 23rd) and I was thinking of looking for a cake pan of a horse head and trying my hand at decorating. I'd be the shit if I could pull that off.

Hi all!

I can't stay long because I'm still using my sis's laptop (getting a new one next week! Yay!)

I hope you are doing well :)

kristin said...

Hey Corinne! Hope you are feeling better!

You shared your computer bug with mine...and my computer has now died :( as has SW's!

When does school start back up again?

Angie said...

Corinne! Are you feeling better?

Angie said...

Robin, good for you on the four pounds! I think I gained four, just last night. :-(

Rebecca, I could eat that dip all by myself and will probably have the leftovers for supper. Come to mama, bacon dip!

suz said...

Hi All,
I think this is where I showed up yesterday, talking about bacon..lol!
I remember some of you from the OHIH days, mostly there I lurked. But hope to come out and chat.
SW, I heart bacon, I am going to copy that recipe, sounds so good.
The pulled pork I did yesterday was da bomb! It turned out so good. Thanks to Shannon on the suggestion for coleslaw, it was a nice addition.
Happy Monday all, going to get some work done, hope to be back later.
Tee..Congratulations on dem Saints..Hollywood could not have scripted it better.:-)

Kristin & Sw- I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel ;) I will say it once and for all but Zofran saves lives ! :p

Kristin- School started again last week. Classes are interesting except for "information systems". Seriously, the prof is so boring it makes me want to jump out of a window.

So, that's 3 of us in the 'dead laptops club'? We are SO special! ;)

Hi Suz, RiM, and anyone I've missed!

fersher said...

Hello, everyone! SW invited me over. So, what happened over at SIP? Anyone care to share? Reader's Digest version? Please?

PJ said...

Hey all - school was dismissed early today due to the snow and wind. This after my 75 minute drive there this morning (usually takes 45 minutes).
Fersher!

PJ said...

AP - that was one of my favorite movies and songs when I was growing up. Sing it, Lulu....

Angie said...

Hi Fersher! So glad you decided to join us! How are the chickens? I've missed you!

SIP is full of wonderful women, some of whom visit us here, and I wish all of them would come say hi. I miss everybody there.

As far as how/why this place came to be, some of us were looking for a forum that was a bit more inclusive and that had a "free speech" policy. AP provided the solution. And daisies! :-)

Hi CK!

PJ said...

Hi SW!

I laughed at your description of the before party scramble. Sounds like me.

Fersher - where did you go and why did you leave?

Angie said...

My pre-party scrambles are generally pretty scrambley, but this one was pretty much the worst. :-)

Shannon said...

Morning all...it takes me a while to get caught up everywhere I seem to find myself reading lately LOL

SW thank you for being so very considerate in your description of how this site came to be. As someone who is in both places it makes me feel good to know that this isnt becoming a place with the us vs them mentality. Shana I know you read her so please dont think I am making a dig at you or Jeannette but I stopped commenting at Fellowship because I kept getting that vibe from several members and just felt better to lurk there on occasion.

kristin said...

Very well put SW! :)

Hi Fersher! Yes, how are the chickens. I've missed them!

CK - sorry about the drive but a day off is a day off :)

Shannon said...

CK hopefully they will let you know BEFORE you put in that drive is school is canceled for tomorrow.

Angie said...

Hi Shannon and Kristin! I saw that you'd posted on Mck w/o Pity, Shannon. That site is getting good lately!

suz said...

Fersher..I wondered what happend to you:p I always enjoyed our covos at OHIH, glad to connect here.

Shannon, glad you still lurk at fellowship. Sorry you got a bad vibe from some. Gosh if I have offended or said anything or gave off a bad vibe, sorry! I know there was a bit of drama there too but the one person who said some unkind things has pretty much been gone from there. Oh I am sure lurking goes on but I have not seen a comment in sometime.
Oh and I love chickens!

PJ said...

We had 2 hours of school, and then the superintendent decided to close. Very unusual, but a large nearby district did the same thing, and our smaller district sort of had to follow suit or get grief.

Every student has an "early dismissal plan" - do they ride the bus, do the parents get a call, does a neighbor or grandparent pick up?

One of my third grade boys was so proud - he said "I go home on the bus with my little sister - and I make lunch cause I know how to make Mac & Cheese".

Robin in Montana said...

Hi Fersher! I think that SW's recap was good. I still post at both places, and this place will be better for me when I'm a mouthy bitch, but I still like it over there because of the (general) population, too.
I have the headache from hell.
And the chicken comment made me think -- we may get a (very few) chicks this spring. It's been so long since I had chickens I'd have to think about what we need to make that happen and to get them past that, "Oh, they're *so stinking cute, put them in a cardboard box with a heat lamp" stage.

PJ said...

RinM,
Sorry for sharing the headache from hell with you.

Robin in Montana said...

CK - I really can't bitch too much (well, yes, apparently, I *can) since I brought it on myself.

Angie said...

A hangover headache, RiM? Those suck.

kristin said...

Sorry 'bout the headache RiM!

I could let LM come over and bang on his drums for a little while - ya think that will help? lol!

Shannon said...

Oh no Suz you didnt say or do anything. I am sure we are thinking of the same peeps who were saying some things that were difficult to swallow....Just for the record I did actually talk to Shana and Jeannette about it when it happened too so wasnt just being pathetic with it all :)

SW that MWOP is too funny but I really love it to be honest...those are things that need to remain out there and people need to have a place to go when they cant take it with JM.

But let me just say keeping up here, on SIPS, and MWOP along with school and life is a lot but I shall manage :)

Angie said...

That made me LOL, Kristin!

Robin in Montana said...

Kristin - it's nice of you to think of me, but no, I don't think that would help. lol.

suz said...

Shannon, good, I did not think I said anything. Glad you could talk to Shana and Jeanette. No, you were not being pathetic anyway ;-)

Anonymous said...

Shannon-I hope it wasn't anything I said. If so I do apologize.

Hi to all.

kristin said...

Sarah -

Good luck to you and potato tomorrow!

What procedure is he having done tomorrow?

I am good but pissed b/c my computer has bit the dust - how 'bout yourself? Staying warm I hope?

Angie said...

Hi Sarah! Man, looking at all the snow in your blog pictures made me happy to live in Alabama! That's a whole lotta snow!

I hope the snow drive is uneventful and that the procedure goes well.

Angie said...

I have something that I really need to finish today, and I'm literally falling asleep at my computer. Going to put on a fresh pot of coffee. Hopefully that will help.

Lisa said...

Ooooh, I see Kay and Fersher! Kay, you just don't know how glad I am to see you back with us. I'm sorry you're depressed, though. Maybe we can provide a little smile for you here and there. Or maybe we should just come kick your ass? ;-)

Fersher, I'll be damned...welcome aboard! How are the chickens? Okay, how are you, too?

SW, thanks for those recipes. That bacon one is going to haunt me until I make it. Maybe for Lost tomorrow night, hmmm?

No advice on the broken laptops...I'd say buy new, too. They're touchy things.

CK, the movie and the song both are among my favorites!

Lisa said...

SW, thanks for the perfect explanation of how this place came to be. You nailed it and I'm glad all over again we're getting married. *nods*

Robin, how much did you drink?

Robin in Montana said...

AP - I decline to comment. :-D No, really, I had plenty, but I think I have something going on with my sinuses that's causing the problem at hand. I couldn't sleep last night because I couldn't breathe I was so stuffy, and under my eyes and back around to my ears on my upper jaw is just killing me. We've wondered if there isn't something in this house like mold maybe that isn't causing me trouble because this is not new.

Lisa said...

Robin, mold can sure screw you up good when continually exposed. I think you can order some test kits online...you might want to look into that.

Robin in Montana said...

AP - I'll look. Something is going on, for sure.

Lisa said...

Can I just say that we are all sure being nice. What the hell happened? Someone start some drama. :-D

Robin in Montana said...

I'd be happy to provide drama. Give me a subject.

PJ said...

AP, I tried - I asked fersher where she went and why she left. Was referring to her disappearance a few months ago.

I scared her away again, I think.

Angie said...

I'll try, AP! Did you hear about that nimrod Sarah Palin explaining this weekend that it's okay for Rush Limbaugh to call people "retards," even though she said Rahm Emmanuel should be fired because he called people the same thing?

Lisa said...

SW, it's Sarah Palin. Is anyone shcoked? Noooo.

Robin, I'm out of topics to provide but I'll join in on one. Help. Someone do something stupid and tell us about it.

CK, I think Fersher is incognito and left for fear of being found out. *nods*

Angie said...

Sigh, you're right. My attempt at controversy was lame. Next?

kristin said...

<-----staying away from the drama!

thanks but no thanks!

almost time to go home - to no computer :(

Robin in Montana said...

Hmmm, I'm thinking.

I told AP and I talked about it on SIP a little bit. Travis (my ex) is saying he's going to take me to court for violating the parenting plan agreeement since I enrolled Cami in basketball, which he doesn't approve of due to "worldly association." I worried all weekend about what he would do to my kids, and that he and my FIL would gang up on Cami and make her feel guilty for playing. It turns out that what he did was sulk in his bedroom and ignore the kids all morning on Saturday and the only comment he made to her was to tell her that she knew he wouldn't have allowed it if she lived with him.
Her last game is going to be on a Friday that would normally be the start of his weekend. Thoughts on how to handle that?

Lisa said...

Kristin, you're no fun. :-P
No one is being fun. I might take my Barbies and go home. *pouts*

Seriously, isn't it funny how, once we can say whatever we like, we all get sooo nice?

Rebecca said...

Shannon - I also hope it wasn't me who bothered or hurt you on Fellowship. I always wondered why so many disappeared :{

SW - So that bacon recipe isn't meant to be a single serving? ;}

Lisa said...

Robin, he's such a stupid asshole. Was he drink when he griped about her basketball being worldly? If she wants to play, I'd just tell him he can pick her up at the game once it's over, and that if he doesn't like that he's more than welcome to take it to court. The nice thing about not being married to the assholes anymore is that it feels damn good to defy them.

Rebecca said...

I know this isn't controversial, but did anyone see the little article on the 11 year old that had a baby?

Lisa said...

Rebecca, I was on Fellowship a bit. I left because of Grammiemommy and her ugliness and hypocrisy.

*waves at Bri since I'm certain her ass is lurking*

Robin in Montana said...

AP -- "The nice thing about not being married to the assholes anymore is that it feels damn good to defy them."

Truer words were never spoken, my friend. :-D

Rebecca -- I did not see it. Kelly said something about it, though. What's the story?

kristin said...

and I broke it!

Goodnight all!

See ya tomorrow!

Lisa said...

Kristin, where are you reading? Lol...we're talking away.

Rebecca said...

There is a big debate about if an 11 year old has a baby, does that make her eligible to make adult decisions concerning the baby's care, etc. Really scary stuff. Honestly, I don't know a good answer to any of that.

Rebecca said...

I don't even recall where she lives, but I think it is here in the states somewhere.

suz said...

AP..lol. She has not been around much since all that nastiness and the whole "change of heart" drink the McCoolaide thing. Suits me fine. That is what I was trying say to Shannon without saying it but I am glad you just spit it out girl!! lol.

Robin in Montana said...

Rebecca -- good God. I live with an 11yo. THere's no way she could make a decision regarding a baby.

(She asked me during the middle of her first basketball game to go get her nachos. I'm just sayin'.)

kristin said...

I noticed that AP, it seems it is not updating on my e-mail as quickly :(

Anywho - RiM - I'm sorry about the whole ex situation and Cami - what a dick!

Anywho, I need to get! See ya tomorrow.

Lisa said...

Rebecca, allowing a child to make adult decisions simply because she had something very adult happen to her makes no sense to me. She's still a child. Why in the world would anyone think she'd magically have adult sense and judgment?

Angie said...

"I left because of Grammiemommy and her ugliness and hypocrisy." Ha! So much for being nice!

Robin, I hate your ex. "Worldy association"? Ugh!

Lisa said...

Suz, someone needed to just get it out in the open. It was getting painful. ;-)

Bye Kristin! Hope you sleep well.

Angie said...

Bye Kristin, see ya tomorrow!

suz said...

AP, so true.

Rebecca said...

Yeah, that's the crazy thing - apparantly some are claiming she has "rights." The article (I read it last week I think) didn't mention anything about the father that I recall.

Robin in Montana said...

SW -- Yeah. It's not okay for her to play basketball with the same kids she sees all day in school because it's "worldly association." It is, however, okay for them to be subjected to hanging out at my inlaws and watching all of them get drunk. Much less worldly, you know, since my FIL is an elder. LOL. Bastards.

Angie said...

Holy crap, RiM. IWhat the hell is wrong with people?

Lisa said...

How is what is worldly and what is not determined, anyway? Is there a master list?

Lisa said...

Rebecca, what are they basing the assertion that she has rights *on? I don't get it. She's 11.

Robin in Montana said...

SW -- We don't have the time to really get into that, now, do we? lol. Sometime I'll discuss those people, and AP can affirm that I'm not making that crap up. My FIL (still the elder) has held his wife's head under the water in the hot tub because she "wouldn't shut up." And she will back him on that decision if someone (like me) ever tries to point it out as possibly being a teensy abuse of the whole 'submission' scenario. @@

Lisa said...

Oh, hell no, she's not making this shit up. And that's the mess she's forced to send her girls into. It sucks.

Robin in Montana said...

AP- Yes, there's a list. My FIL keeps it. lol. Ex-FIL. I love how that sounds, the ex part.

Angie said...

Robin, what kind of religion results in such submissive wives but also supports alcohol abuse? The religious nuts in my region tend to be teetotalers.

suz said...

SW, the religion of man that distorts and uses the Bible or sacred texts for their own gain, manipulating meaning while putting down others especially women. Take your pick..IMHO.lol.
Sorry Robin, must make it tough to instill strength and courage in you kids with that to contend with. I am sure you do a great job though.

Angie said...

Did anybody think that there were an awful lot of arguably misogynistic Super Bowl ads last night? "Misogynistic" might be too strong a word, but it seemed that a lot of ads celebrated dumb caveman thinking and typical male/female stereotypes. The Today Show commented about it this morning, and I noticed it last night.

Angie said...

Hey, just found an article about it that agrees with me! http://www.huffingtonpost.com/jehmu-greene/super-bowl-sexism-by-the_b_454249.html

If I'd quit fucking around, I could finish what I'm working on and go home to my bacon dip. Dammit.

Shannon said...

Ok so I come back and see that AP spilled part of the beans for me with GM being part of the reason for me no longer commenting at Fellowship....the other half would have been her buddy Tina. Tina even emailed me with her snotty little what makes this so bad attitude. Oh well I can chat with those I like just fine now LOL

twirldawg said...

Does Tina even post over on Fellowship anymore?

Angie said...

Hi Jill and Shannon, anybody watching the Bachelor tonight? I'm working late, so will watch it when I get home.

Anonymous said...

Jill, I haven't seen her there in a long time. I was just wondering that today.

twirldawg said...

Hey SW, I'm not one of the Bachelor watchers.

Angie said...

Dang, Jill. We need some of those here! (she whined, unattractively) ;-)

CPTwife said...

Hi ladies,

I need to scroll to catch up a bit. My arms hurts soooo much from shoveling! I'm putting a sign in the yard that says "Free snow, you haul." They finally dug us out with two bobcats and a caterpillar but we had to get the driveway. You know you have too much snow when you run out of places to put it.

Kristin: I had that problem with my Mac. I took it in and the first thing they did was replaced the battery. It still didn't work so they had to replace the connector/switch/whatever you call it where you hook the adaptor to the laptop. It was under warranty but I think the receipt said it was $150. That is cheaper than a laptop so I would take it in and have them check it out. Good luck...computer problems suck!

CPTwife said...

SW: Yes about the sexist SB ads. I noticed that too! I had stomached a few of the commercials thinking okay, I get it, it's the SB. But then there was the commercial of the guy shopping and the announcer tells him to "take his skirt off." Totally over the top for me! I was getting pissed and the only reason I was watching the game was for the commercials.

Rebecca said...

I just made a big long post blathering on about the 11 year old girl who had the baby, and my computer decided to spaz out - so lucky for you all - short version since I can no longer find the article.

Most of the guidelines that are in place have been made for teenage girls in regards to decisions on keeping/adopting out the baby, etc., choices about care and upbringing, etc. With this girl, it a whole new game 'cuz she is SO young.

Lisa said...

I just noticed I missed SG before...hi! And CPTWife, did you just now find your way here or have I missed you all along, too? Either way, it's so darn nice seeing everyone. :-)

Back to catch up after a unsatisfying dinner. I don't know why I persist in making beans and why I can't just say that I don't like beans very much.

Rebecca said...

it = its

Angie said...

Hi CPTwife! I don't know how you snowbirds do it. The Today Show had video of people digging their cars out of many feet of snow. Everybody seemed pretty cheerful about it. Which struck me as odd, because I'm pretty sure I'd be cussing with every shovel full. But maybe they were making nice for the cameras.

Rebecca said...

AP I bet your beans are better than my most gourmet meal...

Angie said...

"snowbirds" is completely the wrong term. That means people who fly south for winter, doesn't it?

Anonymous said...

What's up, girls?

Speaking of snow, we are supposed to get about 12 inches between tonight and Wednesday. GAH!

How is everyone?

Angie said...

"take his skirt off" Yes! That was the one that got us women grumbling last night! *#$*!

Angie said...

Hi Bella! You yankees need to come on down to Alabama where it's warmer. I'll put you up and feed you delicious leftover bacon dip. No shoveling!

Anonymous said...

I would trade my boots for bacon dip, any day. And I second whoever above said she could eat the entire dip, alone.

Angie said...

Rebecca, in my view, most 16 year olds aren't mature enough to make life altering decisions for babies either. I'd vote for not letting the stupid kids procreate at all. But failing that, I'd say give the kids to the state and let them be adopted by loving parents. Yeah, I know it's unconstitutional. But we've skirted the constitution for many less important things.

laura said...

AP are you watchong Nancy Grace?

Rebecca said...

Yeah SW, I wish I knew more of the details of the story, such as how this happened (well, yeah, I get how) in the first place, how old the father was, etc. Just is really sad that so many women who would like to have children can't, and then things like this happen. I hope she has strong family support, but then again HOW did this happen? Yikes, I hope it is a VERY isolated case!

Lisa said...

Laura, yes I am and getting aggravated. :-P I agree with her many times but this isn't one of them.

SW, I need a chair. I'm faint. We agree.

Bella, how's Loaf?

Angie said...

Rebecca, I wish I thought it was isolated. I think the kids are having sex way earlier these days. Sadly.

Angie said...

AP, you think I'm shocked that we agree the ONLY time I've ever taken a fascist position on anything? I'm so not shocked!

Rebecca said...

Yep, you're absolutely right - and 16 is too young also. Girls are developing at such a young age. I hope I can navigate those years with my daughter successfully.

Lisa said...

"AP, you think I'm shocked that we agree the ONLY time I've ever taken a fascist position on anything? I'm so not shocked!"

HEY! Fascist? No it isn't, it's *reasonable.

Saeah, you no hair may be dramatic, indeed. So, are we hoping Potato has the long named thing then? Well, not hoping but you know what I mean...so you have answers.

twirldawg said...

Sarah I hope you get some answers tomorrow.

CPTwife said...

I've stopped in a couple times before AP. :)

SW: I'm soooo sore. I just posted a picture of my husband's car to my blog.

Angie said...

Sarah, you are absolutely welcome, so long as Potato isn't allergic to cats! I hope the test goes well.

CPTwife, that car picture made me LOL. So sorry for you guys!

Anonymous said...

Damn Loaf. He's as big as a loaf. He needs some Purina Fit and Trim.

Did you see JM is shopping for a new car? UGH.

Angie said...

Surely she's not, Bella! With her popularity on the wane, the last thing she should be doing is bragging about buying a new car.

Lisa said...

Holy shit, CPT, that's a lot of snow!

Bella, I hadn't read about the car shopping. She's either made a shitload of money and banked it or that's going to be some creative financing going on there.

Angie said...

She needs to hire a PR person.

Angie said...

Bella, I got an almost insulting lecture from my vet recently about my cat Fox needing to lose weight. It was worse than the one my doctor gave me, and that kind of pissed me off.

Shana said...

Hello pretty ladies =0)

Umm...SW, you do know we reside in the same state don't ya?? *grinning mischievously*

Hey Shannon! I *do read here when I get a minute. Ya know, on account that it isn't private & I'm nosy. I ain't even gonna lie, ha! I actually pulled it up early this morning & just now refreshed & caught up. I've been gone all day =/

GM & Tina have not been posting on Fellowship. I won't get into specifics with either one at the moment. I will say that I am glad they are gone. Oopsie daisy...I said that? =0)

Lisa said...

"I will say that I am glad they are gone. Oopsie daisy...I said that? =0)"

ROFL! See? Now *that's how it's done!

Angie said...

Shana, I forgot that! Where are you? Want some bacon dip?

Anonymous said...

AP, can I end I say anything with an "oopsie daisy, I said that?"

GM and Tina, what a pair. GM is a loon...I look at her blog very occasionally..she's over there talking to herself most days, lol!

Anonymous said...

"anything snarky" with "I say"

I'm channeling Rain Man again, lol.

Angie said...

Bella asked, "can I end I say anything with an 'oopsie daisy, I said that?'"

Same thing as "Bless her heart" down here, Bella. It's allowed!

Lisa said...

That's how it works, Bella. Cut loose, then twirl a daisy, finish with that and you're good. :-D

Lindsay said...

Hi Ladies! Been lurking on and off today. Don't have anything witty or snarky to contribute, but wanted to say hi. Oh, and to say thanks for the MWoP blog title. I googled it and got a laugh. Carry on!

Robin in Montana said...

SW - Jehovah's Witness, to answer your question way back up there. :)

Tee said...

Me and V say hi!

Robin in Montana said...

And also, SW, I'm a Bachelor fan. Although I have to say, I *want to like Jake, but I just can't. And I read the spoilers, so I know who supposedly "wins." I don't know why, I just can't get into this season.

Any Survivor fans?

Hi Tee! And V!

Anonymous said...

RIM, I am a Survivor fan, big time, as well as The Amazing Race.

I would much rather be on the Amazing Race than Survivor, though...Survivor may be more beneficial to my weight loss goals.

Anonymous said...

Hey all.

Bella ready for the snow?

Survivor fan here.

Anonymous said...

Sandy, heck no. I am ready for sunshine and grass growing.

I'm working in Homewood/Flossmoor tomorrow, right now I am mapping an alternate route so I can avoid I-80.

I'm hoping the office will be closed!

Anonymous said...

I'm kind of hoping they close the school but I highly doubt it.

Anonymous said...

They are talking 50 mph winds, though, so who knows? The worst of it looks like it's going to come tomorrow afternoon.

Anonymous said...

Yeah I know. I'll be watching the neighbor's tree again. I wish they would cut that damn thing down already. I really like my roof!

Tee said...

Hey Robin! How's your day going? I'm so sorry to hear about your idiot ex and the latest crap that he's pulled. I really enjoyed talking to you last night, even if it was just for a few minutes. I have not heard from Harvey today but we have been in MS and spent a better portion of the day in the hospital. I'll try giving him a call tomorrow. Cross your fingers!

V was chewing on my fingers. She has now decided that's not good enough and is chewing on my entire right arm. Crazy baby!

Angie said...

I can't freaking wait for Survivor Thursday night!

Okay, I'm out for the evening. Still at work but am heading home to a computerless house. But there's bacon dip! See ya'll tomorrow!

Angie said...

Oh, but before I leave, Hi to Tee!

Shana said...

SW, I'm right on the Jefferson/Blount county line. Where are you?

I don't regret saying what I said because it was honest. However, I apologize AP. I don't want to be the cause of any drama & I didn't think about that. Sorry!

Anonymous said...

Shana...I happen to agree with you! Oopsie daisy...did I say that?

suz said...

Sandy, Shana...lol, I was going to say the same thing, it is your opinion, that is ok to have.

Shana said...

Hey Sweet Tee! I gave you that name & I still love it♥ I have had baby fever for over a week now. I can just see V drooling all over your arm! Don't you just love it?!

suz said...

Tee!!
Happy for dem Saints! congratulations to your team, you must be a proud citizen of New Orleans!

From MWoP - worth pasting here. So totally about someone like JM.

Lisa said...

Hi, Tee and V!

Shana, what the heck are you apologizing to me for? You did nothing wrong. Say whatever you like around here - it's just fine and some drama is always welcome. Besides, many of us agree with you. ;-)

Shana said...

I just didn't want to bring drama here & not welcome it on Fellowship, know what I mean? I appreciate it AP. I wanted to create a safe place for everyone & should have just told those 2 to kick rocks in the beginning. I say 'I' because Jeanette is in the bed & I don't want it to seem as though I'm speaking for her as well.(although, she feels the same, ha!) Anywho...just didn't want to be a hypocrite or a shit stirrer.

Tee said...

Sorry, didn't mean to disappear for that length of time. V decided that she needed my undivided attention and thought that a meltdown would prove it. It worked.

Shana- I think of you every time I look at my blog's title! Yes, I love Baby V and her drool! She's starting to teethe and likes to chew on things now more than ever. She's always been a baby that needs to chew on something.

Suz- I am! I never thought I'd want to watch a football game, never mind look forward to one. I was certainly excited last night. We had to go on a hunt for a newspaper this morning. A lot of places were sold out of them!

AP- Hello to you! Little Miss Two-Chins said to tell you "pttb!" Interpret that however you want to. She's grouchy because she's tired.

How has everyone's day gone?

Trudy said...

Good morning Everyone. I'm up early today have to be at the Dr. at 8:30 first I get to have a mammogram then a sonogram to check out lumpy AKA right tit. Then as if that's not enough luck. I get to visit my Dr. and get my ass chewed about my blood work. I see new meds and a diet in my near future. Yuck! Have a great day.

Lisa said...

Morning, all!

Trudy, good luck with your appointments and if you feel up to sharing how it all went, please do!

Shana, you said "I just didn't want to bring drama here & not welcome it on Fellowship, know what I mean?"

I get that and I also get why Fellowship and SIP both didn't welcome it. Not everyone likes drama or is comfortable with it. Some people truly hate it. It's good to have places to go to avoid it when that's the case. This blog? Was set up for those who don't mind a good dose of drama and who even enjoy it. Not that I know anyone like that around here. ;-) SO, no need to worry about saying things here you may not at Fellowship, okay? It's perfectly fine. That's why we have no real rules and why everything is as open as possible.

Lisa said...

I'm off to take Jake to see the girlfriend this morning then have to scrub my house up today. We just found out Jake's grandparents and great-grandmother on his dad's side are in town and want to come visit us in the morning, then spend the day out with him. I still love them, they're very sweet ex-inlaws (it's Tom's dad and stepmom, his real mom is a stupid, bitchy slut) so I'm looking forward to it but want my house really clean. And yay - Lost is on tonight - we're having bacon dip.

Hope everyone is well and having a good day. Sarah, good luck with Potato today!

kristin said...

Morning ladies!

Trudy - good luck today!

...still trying to catch up - hey CPT and all others that snuck in!

twirldawg said...

Morning ladies.

I'm still catching up. I went to bed at 10pm last night and woke up feeling like poo.

kristin said...

Jill - you're all warm and squishy? lol...sorry you feel like poo.

Sarah - hope you get some answeres today!

going to get coffee now!

Oh - and you know I'm a survivor fan!

and I'm sorry but I cannot stand to watch Gia on the Bachelor, her and her botched botox job. aaaahhhh!

Anonymous said...

Morning all!

- Sorry you don't feel good Jill :(

I'm reading through the under1000braincells blog. I Love it!
That under1000permonth lady is so filthy it makes me want to buy her soap. And bleach for her apartment!

Lisa said...

Kristin, you need to get a computer back at home. I miss you when you go all quiet!

Jill, that sucks being sick but in the middle of a move is worse yet. Did you guys get things resolved and back underway?

Corinne, she's just nasty. I don't care how poor you are, you can keep things clean. If you can't afford some Dollar Tree Windex, some detergent of some type and can't scrap some rags, it's pathetic. If you can and won't use them knowing you've got kids in the house and they need a clean environment, then you have no business breeding. And if you've had so many kids that you can't keep things reasonably clean (note, I'm not talking about kids' messes here) then really, someone needs to make the decision that you are too stupid to parent and get those kids away from you.

twirldawg said...

AP- things are somewhat resolved.

I really just want to put my head down :(

kristin said...

AP -yeah, I missed you guys, especially when the Bachelor was on. i really wanted to dog these girls and there was no one :(

I'm glad you missed me :)

Lisa said...

Awww, Jill, is there an end in sight? Are you in enough that you can just let the boxes sit whole you rest and get to feeling better?

Anonymous said...

AP- Exactly. Being poor is not an excuse for lack of hygiene. Poor kids. I wonder if she CPS will ever get involved? I mean the woman ignored her lethargic son for 2 days before she drove him to the hospital in a *coma! The oly reason I can see why she ignored him is that he is a pretty un-active boy, which would be caused by malnutrition.

That under1000permonth blog is a trainwreck.

Anonymous said...

Ugh. I can't type.

Lisa said...

Corinne, I hate defending Emily but it could be possible he was slipping in and out of a coma and she thought he was napping. If she decided to just let him "nap" since he was sick instead of trying to wake him, she might not have realized. I'd like to know what his other symptoms really were, you know? Sick to that extent with no fever? Would alert me to something huge. If he had a fever, not so much and I may have done as she did, if I'm all honest and everything. I have to assume there was no fever, though. I mean, if they were suspecting poisoning, fever doesn't typically go along with that, does it?

Robin in Montana said...

Good morning everyone. I feel like dook this morning.

kristin said...

RiM - you and Jill both feel warm and squishy today :)

Sorry to hear!

Did you watch Bachelor last night?

Anonymous said...

AP- I get what you're saying but I can't help but think Emily just wasn't paying attention. She doesn't strike me as the kind of mother who *really cares about her kids.

You're right, poisoning is not usually accompanied by fever. I think she mentioned the medical team investigated for ethylene glycol poisoning? That's just so weird that she would keep antifreeze where her kids can reach it!

Anonymous said...

Hi RiM!
I'm sorry you don't feel good :-(

Lisa said...

Oh, another sickie. And "dook"? Lol.

Corinne, I *think brake fluid is similar to antifreeze and comes in small cans. While I have trouble imagining a kid hoisting up a gallon jug of antifreeze to chug it without making a huge mess and alerting parents at least in that manner, a cam of brake fluid is far, far smaller. I can see storing stuff in the house if you have no room in your trunk or don't have a trunk, but for the love of God, keep it secured, even if you have to wrap masses of duct tape around the lid. But what? The kid put the lid back on and put it back in place once he was done drinking? Please. There's just something very fishy about all of this. Hey, maybe she was simply letting him lick the pavement like JM does!

Anonymous said...

"Hey, maybe she was simply letting him lick the pavement like JM does!"
