Well Karen sending you many positive vibes.

I'm starting to zone out, have a great night, and let us know how it goes tomorrow!

Karen said...

Awww AP - thank you!! That is so sweet - with a rainbow and everything....

Thank you FT - I appreciate the vibes - I'll let you know how it goes!

Karen said...

Its been a long day.... and tomorrow will be too - Think I've had it for the night too! Thanks again AP - you are sweet!! SW don't hit me... she's sweet but you can still claim her as yours!!! I'll come on tomorrow as I can... let you all know if I'm again gainfully employed!!

Night!!

Lisa said...

Karen, you are more than welcome and best of luck tomorrow (today)...let us know as soon as you can!

Karen said...

I will AP - I'm nervous like its my first job... and the funny thing is, I think if I show up - I will probably get the job! ha! maybe thats pushing it a little bit, but its definately not like my last job, and its entry level at best, but its something that will pay my bills and not stress me out, and like I said the company has a great reputation, this would be in the corporate headquarters, and they have great benefits, and I think the potential to move up in the company is there, if I would want to. But we will see, and I will definately let you know!!

Robin in Montana said...

Good morning everyone. I am not sure if Lisa mentioned it, but I've been trying to finish the transcript from hell these past few days and haven't had time to do anything but work. (Well, I worshipped. Worship is important to me ::cackle::) but wanted to just say hi, I haven't forgotten anyone or gone off mad or been abducted by aliens.

Hope to be back to chat in a day or two!

Hope everyone has a good day today.

kristin said...

Morning all!

Hey RiM - I was worried but AP did say you were busy!

Karen - best of luck today and HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Just be yourself and relax! I hate interviews too! Sounds like you have a very busy day!

PJ said...

Morning Kristin! RiM - we've missed you. Glad you're just busy!

Happy Birthday to you, Karen.

Somebody standing next to me today better be wearing an "I'm with Stupid" t-shirt with an arrow pointing to me.

Bye -

::kicking herself in the ass on the way out ala Jillian and the Shred::

kristin said...

You lost me CK - why are you stupid?

How are the kiddos feeling?

Angie said...

Morning all! And Happy Birthday Karen! Your cough drop story was hilarious! I'll be thinking about you today and hoping that your interview goes great.

RiM, are you almost done?

BD, did you watch Big Love? What did you think? Jill, did you watch it? Like it?

Angie said...

CK, how did you like Brothers and Sisters? I want Sally Field to be my Mom more than ever. And I want Gilles Marini to be my boyfriend. He is H.O.T.

kristin said...

SW - you have AP!

It was sad and I actually cried at the end.

I have a case of the nostalgias.

How are you SW?

twirldawg said...

SW- I'm not sure how they are going to wrap up some of the story lines in two more episodes.
I think Anna and her boyfriend are going to blackmail Bill.

Angie said...

Surely AP wouldn't begrudge me a hot French part time boyfriend on the side.

I'm good, Kristin. Survived (barely) getting ready for the housekeeper this morning.

Angie said...

Hi Jill! Somebody needs to blackmail Bill. What he's doing isn't right. Although, he did get some respect back from me with his actions last night. Wasn't Lois awesome?? And isn't Margene just the cutest thing?

Lisa said...

Gooooood morning, Vietnam!

Lisa said...

SW, if you get a hot, French boyfriend on the side, then I get Kristin on the side. That seems fair.

CK, everything okay?

kristin said...

Hey AP! How's the headache?

I am freakin' tired. LM was up at 3:45 and I didn't sleep much after that. I tried to get him to go back to his room and he wasn't having it. Then it was a struggle this am to do the breathing treatment and he was very upset that I took the nebulizer to school, he actually took the bag from me and went back to the car. I had to pick him up and carry him to his room in tears, it broke my heart. I HATE that. I tried to explain to him that if he does the treatments, he will feel better quicker and then no more treaments. I don't think he understands :(

twirldawg said...

Lois made my jaw drop!

Angie said...

"SW, if you get a hot, French boyfriend on the side, then I get Kristin on the side. That seems fair."

Deal! But don't get your hopes up too high, Kristin. The odds of me getting a hot French boyfriend aren't super high.

And I just realized I'm going to be in trouble with Corinne for wanting one. Uh oh.

Angie said...

AP, when does your company arrive?

Angie said...

I read a good quote this morning: "Resentment is allowing someone to live rent-free in a room in your head."

Lisa said...

SW, they get here Wednesday. I dread it. I also need to plan some type of menu to satisfy him so we don't have to go out to eat every damn day.

Good quote, by the way...sort of the polite version of "shit happens, buck up and move on."

Angie said...

Much more polite version. ::nods::

Do they at least pick up the check if you go out to eat? I'm dreading this for you. It's going to eat into my quality AP time.

Robin in Montana said...

SW -- I'm not sure if they pick up the check (I'm thinking not) but even if they did, the embarassment they cause due to their demanding, selfish attitude, and the MESS that is left behind wouldn't make it worth it, anyway.

I admire you for putting up for them, I really do, AP. I couldn't do it.

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Happy birthday Karen! And good luck!

SW, I need to discuss Big Love. Bill slightly redeemed himself in my eyes last night, when he was willing to give up everything for Ben. I need to know more about JJ and Wanda, and Lois knocked it out of the park last night.

I too think Ana and current man will blackmail Bill; I also think that Barb is going to have a snexy encounter with Jerry's son (I can't remember his name). Oh, and Sarah's going to get pregnant and totally throw Nikki over the edge.

AP: is this Houseguest from Hell? Again? Why do you do this to yourself? You are too damn nice. I mean that as a compliment, as do I my question as to your submission to torture.

On the other hand, I feel pretty confident that you are such a great hostess that I could sit on your furniture naked, strumming a ukelele and singing Tiptoe through the Tulips and you wouldn't say a word. So there's that.

kristin said...

lol @ BD - she might give you a napkin for Fester though!

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Poor, poor unwanted Fester.

Fester is still doing what's he's been doing, in spite of the huge drop in pain. I have another post-op appointment Wed., hopefully Dr. F can advise.

Angie said...

"I could sit on your furniture naked, strumming a ukelele and singing Tiptoe through the Tulips and you wouldn't say a word."

That I find the thought of this utterly charming speaks to how much I missed BD while we were apart. But please, sit on a towel.

Bill definitely redeemed himself a little. I was amazed at how tense the Mexico scenes were, given that I knew in my head they couldn't really kill off Ben and Lois.

I like the chemistry between Barb and Jerry's son. It's kind of refreshing to see her in that light. She can get kind of negative.

Love Nikki not being able to conceive, and Adaleen being pregnant, so funny!

Angie said...

AP, we need a plan to avoid this visit next year. You don't seem to me like someone who can't say no. What's behind you agreeing to this torture?

And Hi Robin! I've missed you! ::waving::

Lisa said...

SW, they sort of expect us to take turns with the check...or rather, *I feel like that's only polite and they don't argue it. What kills me is that they know I am careful with what I spend and I'm honestly not used to (or happy about) $100 restaurant tabs anymore. Robin is right, too...the mess? Lord. And insulting? Him, anyway. He's of the opinion that all Southerners are pretty much classless, inbred poor trash. Then he very gallantly tries to hide that feeling, only not so much. She's not like that, thankfully, although admits she used to be and I changed her mind. *eyeroll*

BD, yes, you're right..you could do all that and I'd just smile. Then come talk shit about you here. :-D

Lisa said...

"AP, we need a plan to avoid this visit next year. You don't seem to me like someone who can't say no. What's behind you agreeing to this torture?"

I don't want to deal with all the drama if I don't. How's that for an honest answer?

twirldawg said...

You really have to feel for Barb sometimes though.

Angie said...

AP, why don't you just send me her e-mail address, and I'll take care of this right now? Grrrr they make me mad, taking advantage of our AP.

Lisa said...

Oh, it's fine, SW. It gives me something to bitch about. ;-)

Angie said...

I do feel for Barb. She really carries the weight of the family. She's the most responsible one, and has to make the hard choices. And she seems to get the least appreciation sometimes.

kristin said...

AP - I will offer my ass kicking services if need be! I still have my tooth guard (somewhere) from football :)

Jennifer-Lynn said...

"He's of the opinion that all Southerners are pretty much classless, inbred poor trash."

You mean they aren't?

J/K.

I was in a class in grad school where I was the only person NOT from the South (most were Louisiana born and bred). During one particularly tense conversation regarding slavery, I had to answer for, like, every Northerner ever. At which point they were like "Northerners stereotype, too. Northerners think of Southerners as stupid, slow and backwards."

What could I say? I conceded the point, although not without pointing out some hypocrisy.

Jennifer-Lynn said...

A. and M. are playing some game in the other room. I have no idea what it is, except A. just told M. she is "busted." I should probably go investigate, but I'm going to finish my coffee first.

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Did I kill it?

Angie said...

"During one particularly tense conversation regarding slavery, I had to answer for, like, every Northerner ever."

This is how I felt for so many years, because when I was an engineer (before I went to law school), I was the only liberal any of my friends and co-workers knew. (I'm in a very very red state.) So everybody wanted to talk politics with me, and I was constantly on the defensive. I'd like to think I held my own though.

Hi :)

How often does everyone wash bras?

I was mine after I wear it a few times, like once a week, Jay finds this horrifying. He thinks bras are like underwear...I tried to explain there are no damp lady bits up top, and that bras are expensive and if I washed it every damn day, they would fall apart quickly.

Do y'all wash bras everyday?

Anonymous said...

Hi all!

Happy belated birthday, Karen! And good luck for the job interview! :)

SW- I'm just shaking my head. You want a FRENCH boyfriend? Lol
And you asked if all Belgians disliked the French as much as I do. Well, I can't say ALL, it would probably be too inclusive, but many, many Belgians do. There are tons of reasons for that.
You also asked if the French disliked Belgians. I think the French don't discriminate. They dislike everyone ;)

Jennifer-Lynn said...

I do not wash my bras every day. I do wash them about once a week, but I usually don't wear the same bra every day. I think of them like jeans; I wear them 2-3 times before I wash them, unless they get really dirty. If I got seriously sweaty in a bra, I would, of course, wash it that night.

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Corinne:

You reminded me of a line from The Golden Girls, where this British guy is trying to pick up Blanche:

British Guy: "We British have one thing going for us."
Blanche: "What's that?"
BG: "We're not the French."

Heh.

Anonymous said...

Bella- I wash mine after I've worn them two or three times.

Melissa said...

Delurking to answer Bella's question-I wash my bras twice a week-depending on whether or not I've been working out or sweating a lot, etc. At that point then obviously (obvious to me anyway!) I wash them more frequently.

Angie said...

Hi Bella!

That's a very interesting question, and I've actually thought about it a lot over the years. I go through periods where I have to wear a "fresh" bra every couple of days, but my average is probably 3-4 days per bra. I do hang the bra up in front of the fan that I run in my bedroom for white noise every night. So I figure that's good enough.

Oh, and props for "damp lady bits."

Anonymous said...

Bd- That's a good one!

Jennifer-Lynn said...

M. wants to wear the wrestling mask again. I am going to try to get a pic for AP's pleasure, as I know she likes pics of babies wearing/doing crazy things.

I could probably even put a little book together. Like, M. in a cooking pot, because when I made gumbo when she was a baby, I'd sing to her "I'm gonna throw you in the pot, gonna make a M____ gumbo!" I could then sell the book for $85.00.

Angie said...

Hi Corinne! And thanks for delurking, Melissa. Delurk more often, K?

Anonymous said...

I think of them like jeans, too. I would say my average wash is after about 2-3 wearings.

It's just like a proper Southern lady to air her bras, SW ;)

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Sports bras I wash after every use. I think that was kind of a given.

Anonymous said...

Hi Melissa! And, welcome!

OT- You all know I have a newfound obsession with sitemeter. Anyways, today it locates me in Luxemburg. I mean, that's not even the right country! :P (BTW, I swear I live in Auderghem/Oudergem, Brussels)!

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Corinne:

Maybe Oudergem is like the moving island on LOST. :)

Anonymous said...

Bd- I think it must be ;)

Anonymous said...

And, hello to Melissa.

BD, a sports bra gets a washing after wearing...as it is a stinky, sopping wet piece of fabric. Ew.

Angie said...

I need to change my screen name. I am NOT a Southern belle, dammit! ;-)

I read years ago that you should air out odors, and only wash stains, if you want to prolong the life of your clothes. I don't know if it really works, but nobody tells me I'm stinky. ::shrugging::

Melissa said...

I don't know about some of you other ladies but I'm not a charter member of the little bitty titty club. Until that happens-or until there's a tax break for bra expenses-I can't afford to have a bra for every day of the week.

Angie said...

<<--has a formidable bosom

Jennifer-Lynn said...

I believe I identified myself (or my bosom anyway) as a retractable awning that broke.

Before babies, I was a perfect 36C. Now I'm rocking 36/38DDDs. When I have my breast reduction, I just want them to restore me to my pre-pregnancy size. I just want some of my old clothes to fit, because some of my old clothing is damn great.

Lisa said...

Hi, Melissa - nice to meet you!

I wear a bra for 2-3 days unless I get really sweaty, as well. I'm thinking about it now though, and I'm kind of bothered. I'd not wear the same shirt 2-3 days and feel it's okay. Not sure why I think it's okay to do with a bra...

Melissa said...

<------rockin' DDD/F

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Speaking of sweatiness, I need some suggestions for workout tunes. I'm trying to upload some now. Anyone have any suggestions?

Anonymous said...

<------ owns more bras than there are days in a month. (I know, this is an addiction)

BTW, I am a 32D. (I had to use a bra size converter to know my American size. It's a 70E, European size )

Angie said...

"Not sure why I think it's okay to do with a bra."

I'm not sure why it's different either, but it is.

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Melissa, I feel your pain. Literally. My back and shoulders constantly ache, because I wasn't born like this so my upper back has trouble supporting it. My daughter will be 5 this August, so it's been over 5 years (including pregnancy) and my upper back is so bad.

My mom and sister both had breast reductions (mom in her 40s, sister at 18). Mom had 17 lbs. taken out (yep, she was huge) and sister had 11 lbs (this was before she had kids). I'd do it now, but if we have another, I want to breastfeed, and that could be hard after reduction. So I'm waiting it out. :)

Angie said...

::perk:: Just learned an interesting new fact about Corinne! Are they cute bras, Corinne? Is that why you have so many?

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Corrine:

You are a wee little thing, with a huge rack. My shoulders feel your pain, as well. :)

Jennifer-Lynn said...

::likes SW's use of "perk" when referring to breasts::

Anonymous said...

Bd- What kind of music do you like?

Angie said...

My bras are purely functional. All beige, all exactly the same.

Wow, 17 pounds! That's like 2 small cats of boob!

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Corinne:

I actually like all kinds of music, but I need something upbeat to get me worked up. For some reason, San Diego radio stations feel the need to play constant emo, which is not motivational (well, not for me). So I'm very behind with regard to current music.

Jennifer-Lynn said...

SW:

My mom's breasts were huge. She has permanent indentations in her shoulders from bra straps. She's now a D, after the 17 lb. removal, so you can try to picture for yourself how big they were.

Anonymous said...

Bd- I appreciate your empathy ;)

SW- Yep. Cute bras. This is a sickness. There are just so many nice bras - I cannot help it. (My bank account wishes it weren't so, though. Cute bras tend to be expensive ;) ) :P

Jennifer-Lynn said...

"That's like two small cats of boob!"

::best comparison I've heard this year::

Angie said...

::best comparison I've heard this year::

Awww, gee whiz, thanks! ::blushing::

Anonymous said...

Bd- Hmmm. How about Girls just wanna have fun by Cindy Lauper, 1985 and High school never ends by Bowling for Soup, What I like about you by Lillix, Little Wonders by Rob Thomas?

I may think of others but tell me if you like any of those :)

Melissa said...

I'd be willing to consider a reduction-I just turned 30. But I don't know if we could manage with my missing work etc. Unfortunately, I also have indentions in my shoulders from years of bra wearing. I'm hoping that my daughter doesn't go through what I went through during puberty. I really "blossomed" in fifth grade and by the end of the school year I was wearing a C cup. She's 10-almost 11 and already sporting a A cup.

PJ said...

Quick check in over lunch - lovin' the bra talk.

Ever 2-3 days myself. When it fails the smell test. Yes, I sometimes smell my bras.

Nothin' exciting for me - I'm afraid of what it would do to husband. He already wants me more often than I want him.

And another version from one who loves her puppy -
"one and a half miniature doxies of boob"

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Corinne:

I love Girls Just.... Unfortunately, A. just got a Barbie guitar that plays that song, and she loves it. So I hear it constantly, and I mean CONSTANTLY.

But 80s Lauper and Madonna would be a good starting point. Thanks for the suggestion. The others I don't know, so I'll have to look for and listen to them.

twirldawg said...

I check in and you are talking about boobs.

Some things will never change.

I Febreeze my bras and rotate them through the week. Same thing with jeans. Both are always best on the second wearing.

BD- Lady Gaga- The Fame is a good workout album.

Jennifer-Lynn said...

I might go into Pandora, plug in some artists I like, and find music that way, too.

PJ said...

SW - I'd take a french guy who looked like Giles in a minute. Husband would object unless Giles brought along a hot french lady. One with nice smelling lady bits.

(although I don't know how well the hairy armpits would go over with him).

PJ said...

Sometimes I wear a shirt twice - again, it must pass the smell test, plus the visual wrinkle evaluation.

Anonymous said...

Dinner time here. BBL!

PJ said...

So our students are doing DDR for PE - "Centerfold". Can I just say that it's a good thing they can't understand the lyrics?

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Jill: I've already got Paparazzi and Poker Face. Not wild about Just Dance. I wouldn't mind listening to her other stuff, though.

Please no one mention Gwen Stefani. I can only take her in small doses, and three or four times a week (which is my gym goal) is more than I can take.

PJ said...

Hi and Bye Corinne!

I'll be back later after school.

Jennifer-Lynn said...

I used to be weirded out by Lady Gaga, but now I just can't help but love her pantless self.

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Bye Corinne! Hi CK!

Angie said...

Hi CK. I still need therapy over one time when my two sisters (one is older and the other is younger) taunted me on a family vacation in which we unfortunately had to share a hotel room. I needed to determine whether a pair of panties I pulled from my suitcase was clean or dirty, so I sniffed them. Is that so bad? (Clean panties smell like dryer sheets, dirty panties ... do not. Made sense to me.)

But my (at that time) horribly mean older sister called me a "panty sniffer" and said to my younger sister "Angie likes sniffing panties," and they both got such a kick out of it. I hated them so bad then.

Still don't like my younger sister, but am best friends with my older sister. Every now and then I have to remind her how horrible she was to me though. Oh, and what makes the story more disturbing is that we were both in college at the time. Old enough to know better than to be cruel to your sister.

Jennifer-Lynn said...

I also have "I Gotta Feeling" and "Boom Boom Pow" by the Black Eyed Peas, neither of which I'd heard until I was at a gay bar in Palm Springs 3 weeks ago. That's the type of music I need, I guess. Gay bar music.

kristin said...

I was going to suggest Black Eyed Peas BD.

kristin said...

bye corinne!

twirldawg said...

Gay bar music is great workout music.

SW- you and your sisters sound like me and my sisters.

Angie said...

Jill, are you a mean sister or the sweet victimized sister?

twirldawg said...

SW. . .um I was the mean sister.

It's my duty as a first born.

Angie said...

Ha Jill! I suspected that. I've always been intimidated by twirlers...

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Does anyone have this weird problem of being on here, and then all of a sudden the screen freezes and a whole bunch of extra windows open, so you have to back out of the Internet and restart?

It happened to me all the time on SIP, and it's happened twice here this morning. It only happens on Blogger sites, for me, anyway.

Angie said...

I've had it happen several times, BD. I googled it found some other people seeking help on message boards, but none of the "answers" were helpful. Some speculated it was a virus, others a glitch in something that was downloaded. I didn't search for blogger-specific issues, though.

kristin said...

I've had it happen a few times too but not recently.

I'm no help, I know!

Anonymous said...

Bd- It's happened to me on SIP several times. I think it's adware, spyware or something like that. Maybe do a virus scan?

Re: songs:
Fame- Irene Cara
What a feeling - Irene Cara
You're so vain - Carly Simon
Closer to fine - Indigo Girls
Jai Ho (you are my destiny) - AR Rahman ft. Pussycat dolls
Livin' on a prayer - Bon Jovi

Thanks, Corinne.

Can we go back to talking about Big Love? B/c I have this whole thing typed up for discussion. :)

Angie said...

Hells yeah, BD. Let 'er rip! I'm leaving for lunch in a couple of minutes though, so you may have to wait for a response from me.

And I'm glad to know you found something to do what that darn free time!

kristin said...

Corinne - I have a special request for you.

It appears RiM has a headache from hell and she would like for you to use your voodoo powers to make it go away....lol.

She is still working on the case though.

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Here are my thoughts on Big Love:

I think Alby will unseal Adaleen and JJ. It was my understanding that he was sealing them as a punishment to Adaleen, but she is putting on the face of happiness, and she certainly wasn’t supposed to have a baby. I think he’ll unseal them so she has the status of an unweb mother in their community, and that will be another form of punishment for her. I also think she will lose the baby in the finale.

I think Alby’s going to go off the deep end, and Nikki’s going to try to help him. I think they genuinely love each other, in a very screwed up way. Inasmuch as Alby fucked with Roman, Adaleen and even Bill, he’s never really pursued Nikki in a vengeful way. Nikki DID turn to Alby when she was in need in Season 3, and he took her in. That phone two episodes ago, where he admitted his affair with Dale and Nikki told Alby she loved him, no matter what? Moved me to tears. Really.

I think that it is going to be revealed that Nikki was sexually abused, and not just via her marriage to JJ. I think we are going to see a lot more Sevigny flesh, as well. I read an interview with her a while back where she said people always come up to her and say “You are so much prettier in real life.” That’s got to be hard, especially since Gennifer Goodwin is gorgeous on and off screen (IMHO). Jeanne Tripplehorn was pretty, but for some reason, as she gets older, I think she looks more and more like a hammerhead shark.

I foresee Frank and Lois becoming more of a cohesive unit. The scene where he apologized, I think, was sincere. He even seemed proud of Bill for sacrificing himself for Ben. And in the minutes before her “death” she apologized to Ben and Jodean, but she chose to sit side by side with Frank. That speaks volumes.

I also think Ana and her new man will blackmail Bill, but something will happen in the finale and she’ll be a non-issue. Ana isn’t a very popular character but she needed to come back for closure.

Jennifer-Lynn said...

unweb: unwed.

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Also, I am apparently the only one here, but I proudly proclaim that I love Anne Dudek in anything, and hope we see much, much more of Lura. I'd watch Dudek if she was working a sidewalk as a mime. She's incredible.

sorry, I can't contribute to this conversation.

I like your analysis of Big Love BD.

Anne Dudek isn't such a scary looking bitch when she's not playing Lura

kristin said...

Yeah, i watch too much as it is and would hate to become addicted to another one.

Oh, and if you ever need something to do in your down time, feel free to come to my house to organize/clean. More than welcome.

The other day LM decided to take out all the puzzles from his puzzle drawer. We sat down and put all the pieces back. A few days later, he emptied out all of his books from his book rack - oh, good times!

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Awesome, Kristin!

I can't even get my own house clean during down time (which is what I'm doing now). But I'd come over for a cocktail. :)

sounds like a plan...as soon as fester stops festering....j/k - I'd letcha sit naked on my couch too, except LM would probably point out your "boobies" and "booty crack".

At school the teacher just taught them "i see london, I see france" - yeah, good times. Anywho, so I asked him yesterday what he learned in school and prompted him to sing it b/c his underwear was showing. Someone asked him what was righ there...pointing at his bottom - and he said proudly "my botty crack!" - cracked us all up! So of course he had to repeat numerous times.

Daycare is AWESOME! :(

BD I love to exercise to AC/DC and Van Halen. I'm sure this show my age, but they have lots of good songs for running and getting angeout of my soul.

BD- I agree. Albie is on the verge of some crazy shit. I think JJ, and his son are implanting emryos into women. I think Wanda knows this, and knows of at least one such baby already born. I think by the time Adaleen finds this out Nikki will be knocked up with the not Bill/Nikki embryo. I can't see Hollis taking his dearmification that well. I think Frank will go back on what he said, saying he was only saying it to be on good terms with Heavenly Father. I think Margie did a great thing, and that the new husband will want to have sex with her, and *that's how they will get Bill to pay them off. Phew. BD- you better still be here!

Don't do it Kristin! It is an addictive show, and the whole time it is not in season, I am counting the months till it comes back on!

kristin said...

I wonder if they have it online?

I have enough problems as it is keeping up with my current shows.

Hey Laura!

Hi EL!

twirldawg said...

Kristin I think it's on HBO's website.

laura said...

The teacher taught the kids the I see London chant. Wow! She stole some kids playground thunder.

Angie said...

Hi Laura! Good to see you. How are the gentlemen?

Erin said...

Jill- I was the mean big sis too! What did you think of last night?

twirldawg said...

EL and BD and any other Big Lovers: I missed something, why doesn't JJ have fingernails?

kristin said...

I don't have HBO which is why I don't watch it!

laura said...

SW They are great, napping as we type. We went out to lunch at cheesecake factory and they ate bread and behaved. They really need for me to make a move on potty training them. I hate spending $ on diapers.

Have you been able to catch up at work lately? I hate that feeling of there always being another project that waits to be finished. Hope you took time this weekend to enjoy yourself.

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Jill: I forgot about that, and didn't even think about embryo implantation. What would Adaleen gain from that, though? She usually has a plan.

Kristin: You can get them from Netflix. Totally worth it.

Angie said...

I like your guts in calling the Alby unsealing. My hat will be off to you if it happens, but I'd kind of be surprised.

I agree that Alby will go off the deep end and that Nikki will try and help him. Agree that they love each other in a screwed up way. Nikki doesn't know abuot Alby being a closet case, does she? Would she be okay with that?

I've thought for a while that Nikki was sexually abused at some point. But then, getting married when you're still a kid and having to have sex with an old guy is sexual abuse, so I guess I didn't think there was more than that.

Chloe Sevigny is beautiful, and it would be neat if she started showing it more. Agreed that Jinnifer Goodwin is darling. ROFL about Jeanne Tripplehorn looking like a hammerhead shark. You nailed that one!

Frank and Lois have come a long way. Their scenes are so terrific I'm sure we'll continue to see a lot of them, though I can't imagine them getting alone will be more interesting than them fighting.

Gotta go to a meeting now. Back later.

PJ said...

Off to add Big Love to my Netflix queue.

kristin said...

hmmpphh - I thought for sure that BD would comment on the "booies" and "butt crack" :(

Where is everyone? As LM says - no everybody here....lol!

2 more hours!

Wondering how Karen did at her interview? Hopefully she got a wonderful birthday present!

kristin said...

oops...meant booty crack and not butt crack :)

Angie said...

Laura, I have not caught up on work. And I don't want you to think I'm working all the time and am rightfully overloaded. Just having trouble concentrating and finishing things lately, for some reason. Thanks for asking.

Jennifer-Lynn said...

BD got kicked off by the rapidly multiplying pages again. Then I finished the kitchen floor and scrubbed my toilets. Living the dream, people.

Kristin, if LM told me my booty crack was showing, I'd probably end up mooning him to show him some "REAL" butt crack. Which would probably end up ruining our friendship, so it is best that I am not naked in your house.

Jennifer-Lynn said...

SW: Nikki has made some insinuations in the past that she does know about Alby's festive side. And Adaleen definitely knows and mentioned it to Nikki, who got upset.

Jennifer-Lynn said...

"I've thought for a while that Nikki was sexually abused at some point. But then, getting married when you're still a kid and having to have sex with an old guy is sexual abuse, so I guess I didn't think there was more than that."

Yeah, but that was the norm where she was, you know? Not saying it wouldn't negatively affect her, but I think there's something else brewing there. Maybe JJ's dad. He was ca-reepy.

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Alone again...naturally.

kristin said...

Oh, you have no idea BD - I think that would cement our friendship. For reals!

On a totally separate note - I need to find stuff for LM's room :(

He has a fireman themed quilt and I still have the turtle comforter on the wall and turtle and fish hooks to hang his coats.

This is what his quilt looks like: http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Fireman-Quilt-Set/3731098/product.html

Anyone have any ideas on where to look? I looked on google/shopping and typed in fireman decor and some other thigs but can't find anything.

laura said...

Waht time was Karen's interview, do we know what company it was with?

kristin said...

sorry BD - I can't comment on the whole BL stuff and I was already typing!

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Yeah, I invoked Gilbert O'Sullivan. Just try to stop me!

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Laura:

When I was catching up this a.m., Karen said her interview was at 2:30 p.m. her time.

kristin said...

Laura - I want to say it was 2:00 but don't quote me. I have no idea what company it was for. :(

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Kristin, I know, but usually there are other conversations going on. It's kind of quiet today.

kristin said...

The norm lately is that it has been quiet in the afternoons.

laura said...

I thought it was me, I'm around during nap and I think that others are busy with life.

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Oh, okay. I guess I hadn't noticed. Thanks, Kristin, for letting me know I don't smell. :)

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Laura, how are the gentlemen? I know someone asked but I can't find your response (sorry).

kristin said...

Not sure if you smell or not BD, just sayin' it like it is!

I am LMAO over here. My sister is about to go postal. Her favorite salesman is making some random noise with his mouth. I didn't notice it until he walked out and she imitated it, now everytime he does it we both crack up laughing.

OMG...gotta find humor in the little things.

kristin said...

Dammit BD - keep up :) totally kidding!

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Kristin:

I'm not good with boy stuff. :) Can you get stencils or fireman decals for the room?

Also, you might be able to ask your local fire department for a tour; the ones out here do that, and you get a small fireman's helmet at the end. Worth a shot.

laura said...

They are doing great. It sounds like your girls are also doing well. Are they home with you during the day. when do you teach your courses?

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Sorry, Kristin...I'm trying.

Sometimes I don't see comments made right around the same time as mine for a few minutes. I don't know why that happens. That happened, for instance, in your response to my theoretical mooning.

Angie said...

What's for dinner everybody? My work buddy (who I recently reconciled with) is coming over for movie night and picking up Thai food for us. I don't get tired of Thai food. We're going to watch The Hurt Locker, and I'm excited about it. It's supposed to be great.

Will record the Bachelor Women Tell All and the Olympics. Our ice dancers were awesome last night, and I hope they win tonight!

kristin said...

No worries! That used to happen to me also. Dunno!

As for stenciling, I rent so that would be a bad idea.

I do have a throw that I might try to frame and hang but I want to get some sort of hooks to replace the ones I have that are a fish and a turtle and some other things.

Laura, glad the gentlemen are doing well. I don't know how I would do it with 2 little ones.

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Never mind, Laura, found your comment. :)

The girls are being good. It amazes me how much they love each other, because my younger brother and I were at war for about 15 years. :)

I'm pretty much working whenever I'm on the computer whether grading, reading papers, etc. I try to do the majority at night or during the hours my husband can watch them. But they are pretty used to it. I also let them watch TV (they watch WAY too much) if I am pressed for time.

But,right now, I'm doing things like checking sources for plagiarism, answering student e-mails, etc. M. is next to me in the high chair and A. is on the other side, thinking about an afternoon snack.

kristin said...

Yeah for reconciliation SW! I love Thai also but haven't had it in awhile.

laura said...

Dinner around here will be homemade
Veggie soup with noodles for the adults, and salmon for the gentlemen. I went to cheescake for lunch and I still feel like I have a bowling ball on my chest.

Jennifer-Lynn said...

I have made no decisions regarding dinner.

BDMIL (which stands for Belldonna's mother in law) sent the girls a gift card for Chick-Fil-A. Maybe I can convince Mr. BD, who stayed in bed ALL DAY SATURDAY AND YESTERDAY (aside from our ill-fated venture to the petting zoo yesterday) that he should take them there for dinner.

kristin said...

ill-fated venture? Do tell.

Angie said...

Yes, Kristin, it's all good now. I ended up feeling bad for him that I've been ignoring his existence lately. He was pretty hurt. He brought in a letter to show me today that his father wrote him when he was 15. His father used to write him a lot of letters, and this one was before the start of the school year. It started out nice, "I'm writing this letter to let you know how much I love you and thank you for being my son." Then it goes on to be quite negative and critical, in an odd way that was quite disturbing to read. I can't imagine a parent wanting to start his kid's school year off with anything other than encouragement, you know? His dad used to mock him when he would mess up in sports.

So now I feel like crap for not being a better friend. Gotta do better now.

kristin said...

Oh my - JM just posted a pic - and said look what is free for the taking at the clinic - it was a bunch of condoms.

I should comment - take a hint..lol

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Kristin:

We went to the petting zoo, b/c it wasn't supposed to stop raining until late afternoon. It was raining on and off when we got there, the lines were long, it was expensive, and the animals weren't interacting (I think it was their sense of the weather. M. was all over the place, parents were fighting with other parents, and to top it off, during an argument between two parents (I was not involved) one of their kids, a 10 year old boy, knocked A. off her swing and hit her, because he was mad.

Not a good time. Oh, did I mention that M. fed a goat half a carrot, took it out of his mouth, and ate it herself? Hi, grossness and disease, how are you?

Jennifer-Lynn said...

It was a carrot stick, not a carrot.

Jennifer-Lynn said...

SW:

You are a good friend because you feel bad, and are trying to make up for it. A bad friend would have nothing to do with any of that.

kristin said...

That is awesome BD! Good times! I'm hoping A wasn't hurt and M didn't get sick.

Yesterday I was trying to clean up under the couch, get all the balls, trucks, etc from under there. I found a small marshmellow, yeah LM picked it up and ate it. I have no idea how long it had been there.

kristin said...

SW - you are a good friend. That sucks about his dad - some people just don't get it.

kristin said...

Just thought I would share this:

On Tuesday, February 23, you can again help your Children’s Miracle Network hospital with IHOP’s National Pancake Day.

Since beginning its National Pancake Day celebration in 2006, IHOP has raised more than $3.25 million to support charities in the communities in which it operates—like Children’s Miracle Network.

All you have to do is visit your local IHOP and celebrate National Pancake Day on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. You will receive one FREE short stack of IHOP’s famous buttermilk pancakes. While you are enjoying your delicious short stack you will have the opportunity to donate to your local children’s hospital.

We know that with your help and generous support, IHOP can reach its goal to raise $5 million in five years for Children's Miracle Network!

Jennifer-Lynn said...

A. loves IHOP. Thanks for posting this; do you mind if I copy and paste it to my playgroup board?

kristin said...

Not at all BD!

Angie said...

I'm unreasonably happy at the moment. I've got a client who wants trademark protection in most countries in the world, and I'm researching trademark law in Kazakhstan. You know, where Borat came from. Freaking awesome.

kristin said...

sounds like fun SW! I love research!

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Awesome, SW!

Angie said...

Okay, Kristin! If you like research, see what you can find out about trademark law in Martinique! :-)

kristin said...

I would love to SW.

Angie said...

Boo, I read the spreadsheet wrong. It was Jordan, not Kazakhstan. :-( Jordan is way less interesting.

And it's Jamaica, not Martinique, Kristin.

kristin said...

see ya ladies later, I'm off to get my little man!

Happy Birthday Karen...I hope you are enjoying your day! How did the interview go?

Lisa said...

"In other news, am I the only person on Earth who is NOT completely shocked by the following?

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Mixed-blessing-credit-card-apf-2338521177.html?x=0"

It surely doesn't shock me. People shouldn't need it to be printed to know what their credit card usage will cost them long-term and seriously, what did people *think was going to happen when Obama started telling credit card companies what they can and can not do?

Anonymous said...

Hey AP...how long are your house guests staying this time? Are you ready?

Lisa said...

Kristin, go to target.com and search for firefighter, fireman, firetruck, etc. They've got some really cute stuff!

SW, are you still happy even though it's Jordan and Jamaica? Congrats either way...more work to pile up is always a good thing. ;-)

Lisa said...

Christy, I am not even remotely ready and time is slipping up on me. I think they're staying until Sunday but thankfully will spend nights at a local B&B. I wonder if I could drug them during the day? Would it be very wrong?

Angie said...

AP, it would not be wrong at all to drug them. No jury would convict!

Ya mon! I gotta say I'm happy either way. Researching Jamaican trademark law at my hourly rate is still cool.

Angie said...

"when Obama started telling credit card companies what they can and can not do"

Uh oh, I sense an argument brewing . . .

PJ said...

Back to a new episode of JM in the news. Can I say I've about had it with our local television stations? I'm down to one that I can watch, because I'm now boycotting the other three due to MckIck coverage. Another bit the dust today. Kare 11.

But there is irony in the coverage - get a laugh out of this...

Here's an excerpt from their story today on their website.

"The family is now able to give away more money than their combined earnings before the blog and as money and popularity has a tendency to do, the family now has its share of critics.

"There are websites created to hating me and it's just," she said."

Hmmm - websites are hating her and it's "JUST"

Can I say perhaps this was a freudian slip by the reporter?

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/just

Just: From having a basis in or conforming to fact or reason

PJ said...

Or perhaps just another example of MrsMckCantSeemToPutWordsTogetherIntoSentencesThatDontMakeHerLookAsStupidAsSheMustBe"

Angie said...

CK, love that!

PJ said...

Our existence and purpose have been affirmed as Just. By the MckKook herself.

Party time - our true value has finally been recognized!

PJ said...

It's a mess of an article. Contradictions abound.

First it states
"At her Web site, www.mycharmingkids.net you will not find anything Internet savvy or Web site catchy, just a blog meant for family and friends to keep up with the McKinney family."

The blog now has millions of hits a month as the extended family keeps up with the McKinney's, who now have another one on the way and are able to earn a living off the blog through advertisers. "

Then we have:

"So how much does she make?

"That's a good question," she said. "Nobody's ever flat out asked me that, a lot. Enough to support us and some ministries in ways that we never thought we would be able to, a lot."

Okay.....which is it?

PJ said...

Why does this piss me off so much? Cause she's a fake. And she uses people. And her kids.

PJ said...

Just a friendly little blog.

That makes enough to live in a $485,000 house and travel like a writer for Fodors.

Jennifer-Lynn said...

I think JM is confused.

I for one, do not hate her. These days, I am completely indifferent to her. I think that is worse. If I hated her, I'd click for fodder.

I think she needs to think people hate her, so that she can self-martyr.

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Also, it just sucks to know someone is indifferent to you, because there's such a lack of feeling there. Really, she barely crosses my mind anymore.

Tee said...
